93 this morning.  Weather, hot. You cannot view this attachment.
Down the highway a couple of hours at Furnace Creek, Death Valley.
My Fitbit sits on my wrist and it doesn't get in the way any more than any watch.  It withstands water so I don't ever have to take it off to wash my hands or do dishes etc. but it is always there and it is easy to check it.  I wouldn't pay for am Apple watch unless it offered me enough more than the Fitbit to make it worth it but if it could accurately show blood sugar it would be worth it I think.

112 this partly cloudy morning.

79° was the high yesterday today's forecast is 82°/48°.

Wow skb, that gentleman is so talented. It was fascinating looking at his works.

I have no desire to have an Apple watch, my phone app does well enough for me counting steps and my bg meter reads my # so I am set.

I would like to own an Apple watch, but not at this time. Maybe when things are better.

Iqbal was a fascinating man. Here I am sitting with the man himself.

Another memory from that Camp was encountering a Bison calf who suffered a paralytic stroke.

100 today fasting reading.

skb Sir, we have seen many of your tiger pictures and I still have the calendar that you had made of bird pictures but this story of a great man is something new for us. Real genius.

139 this morning.

Heat and humidity look to be here a while - feels good unless you're out working in it for long.

Apple tends to price their stuff high which when added to the simple cost of a watch, you also have to have a phone for which you have a plan. Its really those monthly usage fees I dislike that drives the cost of it all up.

Still, a CGM in your watch is an idea that could be great but if you've got to be near your phone to use it why not just an app? I guess we wait and see...

skb - That is a wonderful picture of yourself and Iqbal.  It also looks like he enjoyed being the host to you.  So very sad about the Bison calf.

It is my opinion that Apple does price its good high, so high the average person cannot afford some of their things.  Sometimes I think I get carried away with having a lot of 'gadgets'.

It is very warm here also and dry, although today is cloudy and the forecast is for possible rain.  We shall see.

92 this morning.  Well, today is the first official day of Summer in the Northern Hemi but I am sure we started a few weeks ago here, at least temperature wise.
Yeah, Apple stuff is expensive to buy and maintain.  I don't know what the Apple watch offers that is different than my Fitbit so I haven't been interested in one.  If the technology works there are other ways the sensor could be worn but as long as Apple holds the patent their watch is probably the only way it would be available.

81° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 75°/54°. Rain seems to be over but clouds remain. For the first day of Summer, I'll take this weather!

skb, that is incredibly sad about the baby bison, but I do always enjoy the nature photos you post. Really enjoyed your posts about Iqbal!

The pleasure is all mine as it rekindles some of the bygone memories. I have such a large stock of photos, videos and other stuff that sometimes I barely remember where I have stored them. This gives me the chance to go through them and relive those moments.

That year we were invited by some of the staffers of the Forest Department to join them in looking for a pair of tigers they were scouting. Since that involved going deeper into the woods we rode elephant back. And boy it was a treat when we did spot the 2 tigers who were resting in the shade of dense bush. They were not too happy about the incursion in to their space.

SKB, your photos are always wonderful to see - hopefully you'll post more.

Some years ago I went on a campaign to digitize all my old photos and videos. It took 2-3 years to finish (mostly) and remains the reason the hard drive on my Macbook is full. Now these photos have gone from quietly rotting in boxes to being at least sometimes the screen saver on my TVs where they at least are seen. Like most singers I accumulated several boxes full of unlabeled cassette and video tapes of performances and rehearsals. Transferring these takes the most time and disk space. I doubt anyone will ever care to hear or watch these things, but at least they're there.

Grammabear, if you're getting carried away with tech then I must be over the line (Wally and SKB too, I expect).  Currently, my router shows 35 Echo devices in play with more to come.  I suppose there are worse things to collect...

I have just started to find, sort and organize old photos from when our children were small.  I found a few photos yesterday that I had totally forgotten about.  I sent a copy of one photo to our eldest son via text message and received a "laughing" response.  Funny how technical stuff can help us share memories from the past.

Tamagno - I would not be sure that no one wants to hear past performances.  The music was good the first time someone heard it, and it is extra good the second, third and fourth time it is heard.  My Uncle was not famous but I would give anything to hear him sing again, especially now he has passed away.

We were very lucky to have missed a passing tornado in the area.  Instead it struck Naperville and Woodridge, IL in the Chicago suburbs.  I hope there were no fatalities there.  We did get rain, but we can do without the storms.

80 this morning.  It is going to start cooling down a bit and Wednesday we may be under 100° for a couple of days.
I don't have a ton of devices but I do have an Echo Show, 2 Echo Dots and "smart" plugs they can control.  TV's that now connect to the internet and outdoor cameras so when you look at it there is more than you realize.

Not techy at all here, no extra tech devices here. Just 2 iPads, an iPhone and  my MacBook Air. TV is not smart, I don't even have a dvr...very low tech...and I'm fine with that.

122 today.

My TV is also not smart. I bought it just before the smart ones came out and there was no point throwing this one out. It has an 'Apple TV' box plugged into it so it can do most of the things the smart one does. But it is time for a Smart TV and I think I'll buy one later this year. the prices are also pretty reasonable now.
