108 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 110° and it is supposed to get to 111° today.  It is supposed to cool down a bit but still over 100°.
Yeah SKB, I bought it direct from Apple because they offer me no interest when put on my Apple card so I take advantage of that.  One of the things I like is that my keyboard has Bluetooth and it will connect to the tablet and I want to try that.  With the Apple M1 chip it is a pretty powerful tablet.

106 this partly cloudy morning.

85° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 88°/50°.

I love how excited you get about each new "toy" you get Wally. For whatever reason the newest tech just does not entice me. As long as my device is still works I am fine with it.

Is it a "guy thing" ? I think it is. Most of the times I am more inquisitive about a new gadget that my wife has bought, than she is. But, I think that it is time bound and with time one loses interest. This is the human trait that the Tech companies try to exploit by bringing in new toys every few months.

107 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 109° and it is supposed to be the same today.  No wind or rain in sight just clear and sunny.
Yeah, it may be a guy thing.  The tech things I have are a hobby of mine and since I can't do any of the outdoor things I used to do like fishing or riding my bicycle I look forward to new things and new challenges.  I think it is much better than sitting and watching the television all day with no input.

103 this sunny morning.

84° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 90°/44° hoping it stays in the low 80's.

I do have the TV on all day but it is mostly just for background noise. There are a few shows I will watch but mostly I am on my laptop. I live alone and find the silence a bit unnerving so the TV helps that. I do get up and walk during most commercial breaks even if I am not really watching the show. My knee dictates more how much I can walk...

111 today morning. The rains have taken a welcome break.

I don't mind watching TV though my choice of programs lean towards current affairs and educational content. Channels like YouTube are modern universities and I wish that these were around during my student days.

LOL. I do watch things on YouTube, but I also like older shows like The original NCIS (gotta love Mark Harmon!), Law & Order Criminal Intent the early years, love, love Monk!, Rizzoli & Isles, and a bunch of cooking shows. Most are background noise but I like hearing them in the background. It is like familiar company here with me... I guess I am a pretty sad/weird person... though I don't feel sad about it at all...

103 today.  Our high yesterday was 107° and it will probably be the same today.
Another wildfire started on the other side of Yosemite National Park and has exploded with the heat and high winds.  Right now it is 0% contained and 6000 people have been evacuated.
I also like the older shows.  Back when Tivo allowed you to record TV shows and then download them to your computer I recorded hours of TV.  I have all of the Murder She Wrote, all of the Columbo, all of the Mash, all of the NCIS and many more.  I was also able to edit the shows and remove all of the commercials.  I have them on hard drives connected to my Blue Ray player and play them on my TV.  You can't do this anymore and that is sad.  Like Barbara I have my TV on all day, mostly for background noise, but I do watch shows sometimes.  I have learned a lot from people on Youtube.  It truly is like a University.

So sorry to hear about the new fires Wally. Reminds me I really need to get the rest of my yard mowed/cleaned up.

I read about this in the News today morning and immediately I thought of the trees. Hopefully this section doesn't have those kind of groves.

I'm always watching YouTube whenever I do watch TV and the channels are mostly about South Asia news, local issues, Animal Videos or Educational content about the Universe and the likes. And yes, Train spotting videos are something I like. I must add that Trains or something to do with trains, constitute 99% of my dreams. I'm still trying to figure out why.

91 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 107° and it is supposed to be a cooler 103° today.  This will probably be the coolest day of the week.  So far July has been pretty normal and no exceptional hot days but August is coming and it can be hotter.
Interesting SKB.  I don't know if model railroads are part of your interest but I am amazed at the lengths some put into creating a model train layout.  It can be a very consuming hobby.
No this fire is not a threat to the Giant Sequoias but it is the largest fire this year so far.  They are doing a good job of getting it under control and weather has helped.

76° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 89°/46°.

May have to postpone Gastro on Thursday, my knee has been acting up a lot lately and don't think I can make the drive yet.

Sorry about our knee, I hope it gets better soon.  I hope you can see an Orthopedist about it and see if the injections are something you could try.  They did wonders for me.
One thing I have been lucky with is that I may have trouble walking I have not had a problem with driving.

My problem is that it is my right knee. Gas pedal and brake just kill me for any length of a drive. Just getting to the PO or grocery store locally makes it hurt. The drs I see are a 60+ mile round trip up to town. I just know I can't do that yet. Hopefully soon...

It sure can be consuming.  I've never built or had one. A friend of mine was into model airplanes and would compete in building and flying them. All hobbies can be consuming beyond a point. Mine was shooting.

Had some slices of apple and pear after dinner. 127 this morning.
