Hello my name is Ronald, I am a diabetic type 2..

Take metformin and do not check my blood, Doctor says no need as long as the AC1 is ok..

Been this way for a long time, must be doing something right, because my AC1 is always normal.

I am 80 years old and retired..

Hello Ronald,

Welcome to The Diabetic Pub. It's always nice to meet people from across the world and make new acquaintances.

The A1c is a reasonably good indicator of overall BG control over the previous 3-4 months. You could use the BG Converters in the Right Panel and check out what your A1c number means in terms of Average BG.

We would love to hear more from you, about yourself, as long as you are comfortable sharing, and whatever you are comfortable sharing. For starters, if you could share your BG numbers, your general lifestyle, diet, physical activity etc. that would help starting a new conversation.

You could read through our My Story thread to learn about some of our members, and probably share your story as well.

Welcome Ronald,

Happy to meet you.  I hope you visit again and maybe share a little bit about what retired life is like for you.  My husband will retire, I think, at the end of this year.  He will be 74.

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome messages.. Sorry I forgot all about this forum, until I seen Sam's name come up on my own forum.

I'll have to look around and read the Teams articles..

I own and run 3 different web forums and involved and a few more, so it's tough getting around..But I will make a better effort to get more involved.

I do have a few questions to ask..
