SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is a scientific initiative that is searching for other intelligent life in the Universe.
The SETI@Home is an initiative by the UC Berkeley to use idle computing power to distribute the work of the search to households or workplaces where users computers can be used (when not being used) to sift through the data.
