There was a study in UK long ago which also came up with a similar conclusion. At DF we believed that this was true so long as the diet remained strictly controlled. But, here's another study which says that remission of T2 is possible;

QuoteThe researchers found that 257 participants (30%) participants were in remission at five-year follow-up. People who achieved weight loss of 10% or more within the first five years after diagnosis were more than twice as likely to go into remission compared to people who maintained the same weight.

Why is it so hard for the medical field to accept the LC/HF way of eating for Diabetes control?? This is an interesting article though. I count myself partly in the group that lost significant weight (50#) while doing LC/HF and found my Diabetes under control. I hesitate to say "remission" though. I have loosened up my diet quite a bit and still am in the 5% club. If that changes, I will definitely tighten up again.
