Hi All,

I am a type 1 diabetic, diagnosed a hundred years ago (well, it seems like it at least!) in 1974 when I was 9. So it's been a long road, but I am doing well. I wear an insulin pump and a sensor now, and I am looking to change pumps (now on Medtronic, looking seriously at Tandem since I wear a Dexcom and the 2 can "talk"). So I have come here, searching for information and experiences. I have 2 kids, and my older daughter is also a type 1 diabetic. Anyway, that is my intro!

Welcome Karen,

We have 2 members who use pumps and are veterans at the game as well. I think you will be able to share a lot of useful information with them.

Hi Karen.  Welcome to the forum.  I am a type 2 but I was diagnosed in 1973 so I agree it seems like a long time ago.

Good Day Karen ~

I am Type 1 diagnosed in 2003 at the ripe old age of 58.  I also wear a insulin pump,Tandem Tslim, and a Dexcom G6 sensor.  I have worn the OmniPod and the Medtronic Revel 723.  I switched from Medtronic Revel in 2015 to the Tandem pump.  I really like the Tandem pump and I have had good luck with it.  It does have a few quirks, but for me it works much better than the other two brands I have used.

We are pleased you have joined our group.  We will do our best to help you in any way possible.  Do stay safe and have a great day.
