Washington University researchers have coaxed stem cells into secreting Insulin bringing in new hope for diabetics.

This is exciting!  I have a friend with early dementia who has had stem cell treatment made from his fatty tissue tried.  Too early to see if it works, but fingers remained crossed that it will.
