Lower immunity and recurring infections are common in type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Researchers at Karolinska Institutet now show that the immune system of people with diabetes has lower levels of the antimicrobial peptide psoriasin, which compromises the urinary bladder's cell barrier, increasing the risk of urinary tract infection.

Another study that throws all "people with diabetes" into the same box without any regard to how high their blood sugar is.  Nowhere do they address how high.  Just assuming that someone with diabetes has the same A1c as another person just because they both are diabetic is not scientific and how high the blood sugar needs to be to be a cause needs to be part of the study.

Of course you are right, but the objective of the study was to ascertain the 'why' and 'how' of what happens. Therefore, the 'when' was left out, I suppose.
