Whose problem is it?

This is exactly why in my first post I suggested that I'd go to the chief of staff if any doc refused to accommodate me & my hearing loss (or any other impairment I might have not directly relevant to what he's treating me for). Jerks like these need to be held accountable, and if they aren't, then more and more people are being denied proper medical care.

Our doc is a geriatrician, and I think that makes a big difference in the treatment we get & why we love our doc so much.

Sometimes it isn't just the doctor that ignores me and my hearing impairment, it is his MA (medical assistant) who checks me in and weighs me and takes the blood pressure.  I've been so tempted on more than one occasion to just get up and walk out without a word because I was so angry.  But that accomplishes nothing, so I'm trapped.

Shanny - keep your doctor as long as you can as it sounds like he is a most kind and understanding individual, one I wish could be cloned and moved to my town.

I just feel fortunate that I have two towns of about 30,000 plus within 25 miles and quite a few doctors available.  I don't do too well in keeping my mouth closed when I am angry and I don't take orders too well.  I would have thought that after nine years in the military, I could take orders, but I now rebel at them, especially when someone feels that they are above me and I should do exactly as they say.  I don't handle people too well that talk at me and not with me.  I may be just too set in my ways as my wife tells me.
