Interesting.  I was a cross country runner in high school and a nationally competitive gymnast in collage, as well as running many 1/2 marathons.  Who would have thought that all those good athletic things would have led to T2 diabetes????

Exercise is a real conundrum.  I remember several DF members who were athletes, or newly committed to fitness, who found that exercise either spiked them to the stratosphere or led to devastating lows.

All we could do, it seems, was recommend that they test-test-test and bring plenty of nuts, cheese and glucose until they know how exercise affects their glucose.

I truly hope this study is followed up.  Too many unanswered questions here.
