I have been on the Omnipod5 for 6 months, and before that the Omnipod horizon for around 5 years and before that Medtronic 530g for around 4 years and MDI before that. My original PCP and Endo both said I was type 1 because of my high insulin needs. My current Endo actually checked and found I was type 2 around 2 years ago. though it made no difference to my treatment. My original PCP and Endo have both retired.
Anyway I am retired also because of heart attack and cancer back in 2015, I have so far beat the cancer.
Anyway look forward to interacting with everyone on this site. AND wish everyone a joyful journey through life with this disease we share, or and our loved ones share.

Sadly, we do not have any pump users on the Forum as of now. We had a couple of friends who were T1s and used pumps but both have left this world some time ago.

On the other hand, we could learn a few things from each other. We do have a number of T2s who are only on metformin and exercise excellent BG control just by controlling their diet.

I would suggest you browse through some of our Forum Links and Articles to familiarize yourself. The Links are in the panel to your right and the Articles are on our Home page.

Once again, Welcome.

Welcome frahm61.  I am a type2 and one thing we all can agree on is that diabetes does present us with problems.  Here we are all dealing with it and have a variety of experience which we try to pass on to others and maybe help to better deal with the challenges.  Look forward to hearing from you and if there are any questions you may have or any advice you may have.  Glad that you are doing OK after the heart attack and cancer.  It sounds like you have had your share of problems.

Welcome frahm61! As a cancer survivor myself, I know some of what you have been through. As Wally said, we are all dealing with this disease and all have different experiences. I am a T2 and did take Metformin for a few yeasr after dx (2012) but since then have been controlling with diet and moderate exercise.

I have never taken insulin and have no experience with pumps but there is always something we can learn from people with different experiences. Please read some of the threads here to get an understanding of us. Especially the threads in My Story found in the Forum Links list on the right side of the forum.

Glad you found us and hope to hear more about your journey with diabetes. Again, Welcome!!
