Question, my knee has been really hurting today... I think it is the cold, but I need to be able to go out to shop tomorrow. I usually take Aleve is there a better/safer painkiller for diabetics? I bought some Advil is that OK/safe? I know some pain meds are better than others for us. Anyone have some input on this?  I have had a really rough day with my knee for no known reason. The way dr appointments are so out there I expect things will be better well before I could get an appointment, especially with a new dr.

Barbara - My GP recommended Tylenol to me for pain control.  She said Advil and Aleve are hard on my kidneys as I have kidney disease.  If I was hurting and Aleve was all that I had, I might be tempted to use it anyway. 

My houseguest at Christmas time came down with a cold, and now my husband and myself have the same thing.  It's been a long time since either of us had a cold.  Thinking about going back to bed for awhile.

88 this morning.  It started raining last night and continues today.  Not hard rain but steady and we are up to 1/2 inch so far which is a lot for here.  There has been near record snow fall in the Sierras with 175 inches at Mammoth Mountain and over 200 inches at Tahoe which won't end the drought but it will really help.
Barbara, I don't really know but I understand that Tylenol is the safest like Grammabear said but for significant pain which I am dealing with right now it is kind of like throwing a glass of water on a forest fire.  The soonest I could get an appointment was next Wednesday so I am going to try to get by until then.  I guess the best answer is what ever helps the most would be the best choice.

20° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 24°/10° with possible occasional snow showers.

Thanks Kathy and Wally, I will pick up some Tylenol today when I shop today. I have a couple tablets left and will take one before I go out.

The good news is that my cat food from Amazon is out for delivery today.

It's been a long time since either of us had a cold. 

Eventually my sore throat also turned into cold and soon it will develop into congestion and cough. This has happened to me after ages. Constitutionally, I am at my weakest in a long long time and I need to attend to that ASAP.

Feeling weak and tired even though I slept fairly decent.  Very tempted to go back to bed.  Have no appetite at all.

99 this morning.  We got a good bit of rain yesterday, not a hard rain but steady and over 1/2 inch.  We are now exactly one inch over the total rainfall for last year.  Snow pack in the Sierras is at an all time high which is very good for water needs for Southern California. 
Gosh, it seems like we all are dealing with some kind of health issue.  In my case the pain is constant and I hope to manage until my doctor's appointment Wednesday.  Take care of yourselves.

27° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 19°/4° with possible snow flurries.

Had a really bad bloody nose last night, feeling drained today and afraid to blow my nose.
