We have a similar forecast here as well as a 'flood watch' for people living near the river here.  We had hoped to mow our lawn but after seeing the forecast, I guess not.

Our yard guy was able to slip in between rains & mow a coupla days ago, but with this much rain & temperatures dropping into high 30s/low 40s at night, the grass grows like wildfire.

Yep, I live North of Shanny near KCMO....and it is turning out to be a real wet Spring.....I don't mind the rain, but the damp cold drives my joints crazy....

My garden may be a bit late if this keeps up.........

Do you not have to deal with flash floods, Carl? That's the worst part of it here - we're perched right on the river, and the river is out of its banks, so all the little tributaries flowing to the river are out of their banks too . . . avoiding high water is a real trick because every waterway is high. We have three routes out of this valley, but tonight only one of them is open & if the little creek that crosses that last remaining route were to flood, we'll be stranded. But it has a nice new high bridge crossing it, so pretty safe.

The nights have been far too chilly for planting anything except the brassicas . . . we keep remembering that tomatoes get 'catfaced' if they sustain temperatures lower than 50° or 55° and ours have dropped into the high 30° several times.

Our other issue is that the thunder rumbles constantly, and our poor old dog Fritz is terrified of storms.

ETA: Just saw reports that two downtown neighborhoods are being evacuated in the county seat - a town about 10 miles from here. That would be a jolt - rescuers coming in in the middle of the night to move you to higher ground, right in the middle of town (in fact, it's only a block from the county courthouse itself!).

Stay safe Shanny, we saw the radar pictures for southern IL and the area around St. Louis last night and it didn't look so good.  We've had enough rain already, can't imagine what you folks are feeling.
