I just saw My PCP this morning.

HbA1c = 5.8
Total Chol = 165
HDL = 79
LDL = 72
Trig. = I forgot to ask.

Congratulations, those are just marvellous numbers.

Using the Freidwald equation we can determine the other numbers

VLdL = 165 - 79 - 72 = 14

VLdL x 5 = 70 = TG

Yup. In a standard lipid panel, only Total Cholesterol, HDL & TG are measured and LdL & vLdL are calculated using the above formula. But now the equipment is much better & direct assays are carried out, in which case the word Direct is added. But the equation still holds good. Even direct scores don't vary more than a percent (or two) here or there.

i have not checked my cholestrol in a long time, n i dont remember what were my last scores. but ill find out from home and let u know, if i can get them.

Got AJ to do the A1c test. The value came out as 6.4. I know it's still high but it came down from over 7 a few months ago. So I'm happy a bit.

the site calculator puts the avg to 150
maybe a little high but not bad at all
