Just curious but it seems that I am getting the error message above along with " No server is available to handle this request" more often when I try to access the Pub.  My only solution has been to just try later, sometimes a lot later, and then it works OK.  It's not a major thing but I thought I should report it.  I am using IE 10 for my browser.

I use this site - http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ - and one day this week it showed our Pub was down . . . maybe skb can shed some light on this.

@Wally - the same thing happens to me.  I wondered if it wasn't the holiday traffic on the internet over the weekend.

I have also got 503 error a couple of times this week. This is a server down error & has nothing to do with the browser, PC or ISP. Servers can be down for many reasons, mostly maintenance. Since our servers are in the US I don't suppose power outage could be one of the problems. Mandatorily, Server hubs or farms have a back up power supply.

I will report this problem to our hosting service.

I have also encountered this problem, but that was a few months ago. Not in the recent past.

Today I have been presented with the 503 error when I go to 'logout' of the forum.  It absolutely will not allow me to logout - period.

Did you get the 503 error or a screen kept coming saying " Go Back".
The 503 is server down, the other one happens if multiple tabs of the forum are open. Close all tabs but one & then try to log out.

I've got this error a couple of times. But this past week I have not logged in so whatever error I did get, it was older than that.

The 503 server error is alive and well again yesterday and today.  It also appears while trying to change from one post to another even while logged in.  If I'm doing something wrong, I would like someone to tell me.  I don't seem to have this problem with other websites, not complaining mind you - I enjoy a lot visiting here.

No, I don't think you are doing anything wrong.  I have run in to this several times this morning and just wait for a while and log back in later.

Since we're on a shared server (dedicated servers are way too expensive) this can happen due to a server overload or maintenance issues. A browser refresh by pressing F5 or hard refresh Cntrl+F5 should help you with the 503 errors. Mind you, if you have something already typed in the text box, it will be lost with the page refresh. In this case you should copy the content to your clipboard with a Cntrl+C, refresh the page, and then try to reply again, using Cntrl+V to paste your typed matter.

Grammabear, browsers usually have that Half Round circle with an arrowhead. Clicking that will also do a page refresh for you. If the server is not really really busy, that should get you around the 503 error.

Sometimes I am also getting these error.

Vahit,

In my reply#11 two posts above, I have given the reasons and the remedies for these errors. This is due to server overload and can happen sometimes.
