Here's a study that confirms our beliefs on Low Carb consumption. Dr. Richard Bernstein is one of the authors, and so are Drs Ludwig & Westman.

Some of us have known and been following this sort of diet for years, but it's interesting to see the study.

Over the years I've known a few type 1 kids this age (and much younger) and wonder how in the world they manage at all successfully. They're certainly regularly tempted by really terrible carb-laden foods all around them. Parents and docs must go nuts wondering what they've eaten when they're not around!
