When you eat is important

QuoteScientists have long assumed that the cause of diet-induced obesity in mice is nutritional; however, our discovery shows that the spreading of caloric intake through the day may contribute, as well, by perturbing metabolic pathways governed by the circadian clock and nutrient sensors. For decades, our society has focused on calorie in, calorie out, exercise and eat healthy, however, this is a novel study that has shown when we eat could be just as important as what we eat.

I'm not sure that it is the same thing but I lost over 50 pounds about 25 years ago when I made lunch my major meal and only had a small dinner meal.  It wasn't a planed "diet" but just a change I made because my work hours changed.  It was over a year that the weight loss took place and it also stayed off.  I don't know if that would have the same result for anyone else.

I once heard a Yoga guru say "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a commoner abd dinner like a pauper".
I have only 2 meals a day, Breakfast and dinner, and both my meals are small, compared to what people eat. Once you are able to read your body signals of hunger and satiety, it's easy.

We also only eat 2 meals a day.  My husband just retired in December and he worked 2nd shift.  His hours are obviously his own now and slowly he is beginning to work toward a 'daytime' schedule.  In the meantime we eat a bigger breakfast and our late afternoon/evening meal is smaller.  I think every person's body is different, but I've heard that same saying from the Yoga guru.  Wise man he is.

I basically practice intermittent fasting. I only eat from 10AM and stop at 7PM. Occasionally I'll have an adult beverage in the evening, but no snacks. My serving sizes are quite small and I don't feel deprived at all.

I have my coffee/ghee/HWC every morning and that keeps me satisfied often until the afternoon.  On the days I work, I get home around 3:30 and that's when I prepare my main meal of the day.  I then have a lighter meal for "dinner" around 6:00 or 6:30, plus my dessert usually around 7:30 or 8:00 p.m.  I'm a night owl, so I usually go to sleep around midnight.  I'm not sure if how I eat would be considered intermittent fasting, but the weight has been steadily going off so I am content with my current regimen.
