So LCHF is a new-fangled, experimental fad.  Right?

Nope.

Ninety-nine years ago, Rebecca W. Oppenheimer got it right.  Here's a link from which you may freely download to a whole bunch of file formats:

Oh, by the way .... some of the ingredients may sound strange, but they translate into many of the LCHF ingredients we know today.  Enjoy!

Wow - this is a very interesting read!  8)

Very interesting. We seem to have lost the way somewhere.

They seem to have understood the rules at the beginning of the last century and drug/food corporations didn't have vested interests to lose.  More's the pity.  This is fascinating.  I wonder if someone will try some of the recipes and tell us the results.  I did notice how many concerned sweets.

I have had this on my iPad for several years.  I don't remember where I got the link, maybe the "other place"?  I think I need to revisit it!!  Thanks for jogging my memory!

I know I once posted it elsewhere.  This book predates the discovery of insulin by 4 years.

I believe the link above is a new one.  Google shows the book is enjoying quite the resurgence!

To be honest, Extreme Bad Practices -- such as high-carb starvation diets -- also existed back in the day.  But I also have a 1920s home-health manual that extols the virtues of the way of eating we now call LCHF.

No recipes in that "newer" book, just a few paragraphs.  Book's not available electronically.  Must track down my copy (it's stored Somewhere Safe) so I can type out those paragraphs.
