Hello Everyone,

Today is the start of the Indian festival of Diwali (Deepavali).
It starts today with Dhanteras (13th day of the moon) when we buy some precious metal or jewelry. Diwali is on the 30th, followed by the New Year on the 31st, and Bhaiduj (Day for the brothers like Rakhi) on the 1st. Diwali is the festival of lights & crackers & lot of sweets, so take care everyone. Be watchful.

Buying jewellery is not a must, though always pleasurable. People make do with buying something metallic.

That was a nice gesture by President Obama. He is very pally with our PM Mr. Modi. And I can see all the Indian White House staff surrounding him. I also believe the US issued a postal stamp for the festival of Diwali.  ;D
