CGMs now covered by Medicare!

Dexcom has just announced that their G5 system is now covered by Medicare as a durable medical device.

Well, that sounds like a positive thing hopefully a sign of change in how treatment for D is looked at.  People can do a much better job if they have the right tools.  It just seems so foolish to me that Medicare would rather pay for all of the complications from diabetes like amputations,  dialysis etc. rather than pay for more than one test strip a day for T2 and 3 strips a day for T1.  Their attitude has been that prevention is not their job !
