Just had a colonoscopy

Had my second colonoscopy earlier this week.  The prep was horrid, as I expected, but the procedure went smoothly.  They found and removed four small polyps, and I think things are okay.

I have not been on the forum much lately, because there is so much going on.  My mother is likely in the last stages of her life now, with a progressive heart condition that is wreaking havoc on her body.  I'm working 3 days a week, and then helping out with caring for my mom as well as a disabled sister the other days of the week.  It doesn't leave me much time for posting online.

For my colonoscopy, I stayed two nights at a local hotel.  In a strange way, it was a brief respite from work/caring for family and other than the fasting and prep, was quite restful.

Just wanted to say hi and hope everyone is doing well!

Taking a hotel room is a stroke of genius, MJ! I'm glad it's over now, and shouldn't be necessary again for a few years, eh?

Hope this rough patch gets over soon. Best wishes and prayers for you Mary.

Hi Rhiannon,
Nice to hear from you. Yes, things have been tough for you. Take care and be well.

Well, the good thing is that it is done for now.  My Gastroenterologist has me coming back for every three years because he has found polyps each time.  Like you said the prep is by far the worst part.  I just had a camera endoscopy and the prep was the same as for a colonoscopy so not fun there either.
You do have your plate full for sure but hope you can drop in when you get a chance.
