I too have problems with shoes.  I a most comfortable in clog type shoes.  I used to have problems with water retention and swelling, but not so much anymore. Now I have some numbness from issues in my lower back that make fit/comfort hard to come by.

I would trust nothing but a good pair of Nike shoes for running. Sarge, back in Saudi had recommended one to me. Since then I'm using just those.

I wish I could find a comfortable shoe.  Since I've gotten older, it seems my feet have become wider and did not know that was possible.  Now it is most difficult to find a 'wide' shoe.
