I've been trying to read a lot about lymphedema and LCHF and what I've learned is that the LCHF way of eating does benefit people who have lymphedema like me.  One thing I read about is MCT oil and the article claims everyone should eat it when possible in addition to coconut oil.  Has anyone here used the MCT oil and does it help you with LCHF woe?

I was not aware that a separate MCT oil was available, and doubt that any such product is available in India. To my mind, Coconut Oil is all natural and contains all the Medium Chain Triglycerides that we need. We use the cold pressed, organic variety to be sure that the extraction process doesn't make any molecular changes to it. Extraction process is all too important in oils.

Amazon has several brands of MCT oil available.  I don't have any idea if it would have any effect on your problem.  I do use coconut oil in my Bullet Proof Coffee every morning, about two Tablespoons, and while it is not pure MCT oil I feel it helps me keep my fat ratio where I want it.  To me it is just a part of my daily diet.  Sometimes I think that the hype for many of the things you see does not live up to the claims but then on the other hand there may not be anything to lose by trying it.

I am also a coconut oil user, all thanks to the forum. I hope this MCT Oil is not just a marketing gimmick. But never used it, so wouldn't know.

MCT is an abbreviation for " medium-chain triglycerides " and coconut oil is around 62-65% MCT's so if you consume coconut oil you are consuming MCT oil.  Because there are benefits to MCT's there are some selling "MCT" oil that is 100% MCT.  So if you want to pay more for a more concentrated form of MCT's then there it is.  I tend to agree with SKB.  The coconut oil has MCT's and is in the natural form so that is what I use.

I too use coconut oil daily. My take is that some form of processing had to be done to extract the mct from the coconut oil.  I don't think that would be a good thing.

We use coconut oil daily at our house too.  When my husband makes popcorn for himself on top of the stove with an old fashioned popcorn maker, he uses coconut oil in the bottom of the pan.  He says it tastes so much better than anything else he has tried.  I llike it in my coffee.  It is also good for applying to dry skin or to a cut or a sore.  No need I reckon to search mct oil.

Like others here, I consume coconut oil every day.  I put a tablespoon into my morning coffee.  If I saute anything on the stove, I use a blend of grass fed butter and coconut oil.  I also put it on my feet and skin every single night.  I love that it melts right in and is not greasy.

My cat also loves coconut oil.  She comes around at night when I'm applying it and licks it off my arms.  I figure it might help control fur balls  ;D

I will have to make sure that the coconut oil I buy is cold pressed.  I know it's virgin, but I have to look more closely at the label when I get home tonight.
