Not forever, but long enough that you get a list of safe foods you can use and combine for meals. Eventually it becomes second nature what foods and how much of them you can tolerate.

But for several weeks at least, you should test at least one meal a day. If you can get cheap enough strips, it's nice to test a full day now & again, but I can tell already that your body is responding well to lower carbs and higher fats! The weight loss comes about almost automatically, doesn't it?! Your numbers continue to drop . . . you're doing GREAT!

Shanny's post about our article on Why LCHF, reminds me that we haven't put up any new articles in a long while. Any contribution is welcome.

I think that is dependent on how closely you want to keep track of your bg.  It also depends on how much time you have.  After 5 years of LCHF I still test regularly after meals but then I am retired and have time on my hands.  I know how most foods are going to affect me but I also have found that things change over time.  I usually test 4-5 times a day just because I want to keep a closer track of how I am doing.  You can do a good job by testing after meals and keeping track of the quantity and type of foods.  Soon you develop a list of the foods you know what to expect and testing becomes less important.

Wally,

JFYI, you responded to Rocky's Post from June 2016. I think he had just joined at that time.

I suppose it's a good idea not to revive an old thread. I should have started a new one.
