A protein could help against T2 Diabetes & Obesity.

Researchers in Netherlands have observed that a certain gut bacteria "Akkermansia muciniphila" is helpful in combating Obesity & Type 2 Diabetes. They found in the trials that pasteurizing this bacteria doubled its efficacy. Further research led to the finding that it is a binding protein which provides these charachteristics to the bacteria.

Yes, that's my question too-- when will the new drug come in the market? Eagerly waiting!

I wouldn't hold my breath.  This study is from 2012 and I don't know of any results yet.  Studies like this are interesting and provide a path for more research to find if there is a solution for a problem.  At this stage it may show hope of a solution but it takes more research to determine if that is possible.
