The linked study shows that certain cavefish display a high level of Insulin Resistance and Blood Glucose. However, they do not suffer the detrimental effects of this. Research into the pathways that assist in eliminating the dangers of elevated BG could be a way forward in further strategies in combating diabetes in humans;
