Dexcom G6 and Tandem

Got e-mail from Tandem yesterday that Dexcom is starting roll out of the new G6 sensor.

As yet, the alert says that so far Tandem's software doesn't support their integrated CGM function. For now, if you keep using the G5 sensors apparently you'll have to specifically request them from Dexcom otherwise they'll send the new G6.

Advantages of the G6 appear considerable including no calibration and 10-day sensor life.

I expect Tandem is working hard to get their own software updates out.

Of course, if you're on Medicare at all (even if you've still got commercial insurance) it remains "forbidden" to use any of the Tandem CGM features or the Dexcom mobile apps.
