176 this morning after a low of 61 in the middle of the night.

Tamagno - I recently replaced a HP printer with a Brother LC 203 which cost me the whole sum of $49 total shipping and handling included.  It was a learning curve in the beginning, but now I really like it.  Depending on your requirements needed, this one might be alright for you.  I checked out the Brother website and just landed there on the last day of their current sale.  I like the idea of having 3 colored cartridges and 1 black cartridge, which I order from Amazon.

It is my understanding that grandson had a good first night at home where his sleep was only interrupted by his Mother checking on him once or twice.

Anyone have recommendations for sore muscles?  I'm trying to get more steps, but muscles are complaining a bit.

98 this morning.  Well, we did stay under the 100° mark with a high of 97° yesterday and an overnight low of 70°, nice.
Tamagno, I have never cared for HP but that is mainly just a personal prejudice.  I have had good luck with Brother, Canon and Epson printers.  One of the things I always look into is what cartridges are available.  I always use after market cartridges and have had good results saving a lot of money.  OEM cartridges are so extremely expensive and that is where I think the Mfg. make their money.  Right now I am using an Epson XP-7100 and I like it a lot.  It's an all-in one and has a document feeder for the scanner so you can scan or copy several, I think up to 25, pages at a time and I like that.  The good thing is that printers are not too expensive but replacing the cartridges can be.

It was clear this morning, but the thunder clouds are starting to build. Mostly on the Idaho side of the mountains behind my house, so I don't think they are going to materialize here.It is 77° now, high predicted 84° but I don' think that is going to happen.

I have a Canon PIXMA MG6620 (recommended by Wally a few years ago :) ) that I really like. There is probably a newer model now. I get the cartridges on  Amazon.

Grammabear, I haven't used anything in a long time until recently I had a sore calf muscle. I used the CBD ointment that I got for my arthritis in CA. It worked well, but it comes from a Chiro and is expensive. I found a local shop that carries CBD products. Maybe you can find one local. I've not checked Amazon, but doubt they would carry it.

ETA: I just checked and Amazon does carry some brands of CDB oil for pain. I can't recommend a brand, I get mine through my DIL's mom, but you may find something that works there.

I've stopped using a printer at home. Wasted a couple of HP printers by not using them for a long time. At work, I use an Epson printer that comes with an ink tank. This is much cheaper to use than cartridges. Adding ink can be a messy affair and we use latex gloves when ink has to be added.

For heavy duty work, we use a Canon all-in-one machine in A3 size. This one can Print, Scan and Photocopy.

160 this morning.

Thanks for the printer recommendations all. There seem to be many options these days making it a bit difficult to choose. I think I'd better go down to Best Buy one day and have a look. While my volume is pretty low, Ido use all the all-in one features, plus it has to be accessible through mobile devices.

As to CBD oil, it looks to me like there's considerable variation among brands. I know a number of people using it successfully, but the brand I bought on line appears to do nothing no matter how I ingest it.

118 this morning.

It is raining here, after almost a whole month without rain.  I am well pleased to see our garden and flowers getting a good drink.

I read an article in the Reader's Digest about certain foods being inflammatory and that avoiding them helps with pain.  I don't know if their article applies to everyone, or just to a isolated few.  They suggested avoiding dairy of all kinds as well as all nightshade plants.  I never knew tomatoes to be considered inflammatory.

103 this morning.  Cooler with an overnight low of 66° and a high yesterday of only 95°.  :D   We are having a pretty mild August for here so far, can't complain at all.
Grammabear, I wish I had an answer for sore muscles but it has been a problem for me at times also.  I have used a pain relieving cream which is mostly Camphor and Menthol, kind of like Bengay.  It does work some but it doesn't really solve the problem.  I'm lucky that right now the muscle pain I was having has abated quite a bit but I really don't know why.  I don't really believe the idea that certain foods are causing it but that is just me being skeptical.

111 this cloudy morning, 106 at bedtime last night.

We did have a small thunderstorm blow through last evening. Basically just the tail of the storm here. Now today a rip roaring one is just finishing passing through, light rain now. Temp is 59°.

Tamagno, I have never tried oral CBD, just the ointment. There is definitely a difference in them too. I bought a jar locally at the Greenhouse Farmacy, the local CBD product store, and it is much weaker than the jar from the Chiropractor in CA.

176 this morning.

Grammabear, my older sister has been (somewhat sporadically, admittedly) following a diet plan focusing on avoiding these presumably inflammatory vegetables, etc. for some few years now. Her results haven't been great; I'm with Wally on this one.

Did some more research on printers and various software and discover that I'd have to get a new Mac to get where I'd like to go. My old MacBook Pro is well over ten-years old now and won't support any more upgrades. I really only use it as something of a hub for my LAN and only use it actively for financial stuff. It does does those things reliably, and I found a way around my printer's recalcitrance, so I'll just keep things as they are for now. It'd be too expensive and time consuming to replace things, though I may see about replacing my external drives with SSDs to help protect my data.

Thanks Tamagno for your opinion about inflammatory foods.  Perhaps just making a stronger effort to follow LCHF diet would benefit me more.  It is hard to do that when the other 'half' eats everything and anything he wants.  I get tired of making two meals, one for him and one for me.

My printer and I have a love/hate relationship.  When it works I love it, when it doesn't-I hate it.  Sometimes if I need to reboot the computer, the printer takes offense and decides not to work perfectly as it was accustomed to doing.  It is, after all, just a machine.

Another cool day. It is 72° now and don't think it will get much higher. I'm liking this Aug weather!

Our temperature today so far is just 72 deg F, but the humidity is 95% which makes outside chores a lot more difficult to do.  Our August weather is unpleasant at best today.
