101 this morning.  Yeah Grammabear, with that humidity 90 is pretty oppressive.  Our high yesterday was 106° but our humidity is pretty low and that helps a lot.  The swamp cooler works quite well in that humidity and the house stays nice inside.  We have a refrigeration central air unit and it is used when the humidity gets too high but the swamp cooler is a lot cheaper to run and it has to run 24 hours in the summer.  At midnight it was still 86°.

100 this morning, 107 at bedtime last night.

More thunderstorms today but not really close to me. Little burst of rain on and off. This has been a very strange Summer so far. I'm beginning to worry about all the weeds in the fields that are growing so well in this wet weather. Fire season may be a bad one!

Actually starting to get a few tomatoes that sure are good! They're loving the hot, sunny weather we've been having. I've got lots of plans for them once I've got more...

I have 3 more zucchini today.  Last night we had a stir fry with all manner of fresh veggies in it.  Gotta love the fresh produce from the garden.

109 this morning.  It is going to cool down a bit but only by a couple of degrees.  Still above the 100° mark.
Fresh vegies from the garden really do taste better.  My SIL is growing much more than they can use so there is an abundance of fresh from the garden here.

Yet another day with thunderstorms and rain. It is getting tiresome...

More tomatoes will be ripe today - so far only enough for just a few bites here and there, but soon now there'll be lots.

Really hot and humid today with a high near 90. Unusual for us, but welcome enough. We actually could use some rain...

100 this morning.  We were just a couple of degrees lower yesterday and should be a couple of degrees cooler again today but still going to be over 100.  Right now I am glad we don't have rain because of the humidity.  Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort is going to be open until July 28.  Right now is when people can ski in a bikini !

Yesterday my Dexcom transmitter absolutely failed and no amount of trouble shooting would fix it.  So...now Dexcom is supposed to be sending me a new transmitter and sensor to replace the one that failed ~ but they don't say when it will come.  I've become very dependent on that piece of technology.  :(

Our temperature is presently 85 deg with 88% which makes for a good day to stay indoors.  The forecast for the next three days is even hotter and more humidity.  Our power company, ComEd has asked people to refrain from unnecessary use of electricity - and I can understand that request.  But how does one cut back on electricity when heat is so oppressive?

It got up to 80° yesterday don't know what the humidity was, but it was much more than it normally is this time of year. So far no rain or thunder but showers are in the forecast. It is 75° right now high forecast 79°. Not sure if it will get there.

Ouch, Grammabear! I'd be interested to know what happened to your transmitter. Definitely not the sort of thing you can keep spares on hand, unfortunately. By the way, my endocrinologist tells me T-Slim and Dexcom are getting Medicare approval for integrated use the end of this year - we'll see...

Gosh, Wally, watching skiers in bikinis puts a whole new spin on that sport.

I had my Dexcom transmitter fail Monday morning and yesterday afternoon the FedEx truck delivered a new transmitter and sensor (to replace the one that I had just inserted before transmitter failure).  This kind of customer service is what they had before this past year when they decided to outsource everything to the Phillipines.

There is a heat advisory in this part of the country with heat indexes from 101 - 110.  Not looking forward to doing any errands but we have to.

105 this morning.  We had a high yesterday of 102° and you wouldn't think there was much difference from the 106° a couple of days ago but you can feel it.
Still getting aftershocks from the earthquakes as expected.  Yesterday there were 2 over 4 mag. and those you can feel pretty good.  The dog seems to have become used to them and is handling it quite well.

Heat and humidity continue today - the sort of weather you only want food that requires zero cooking.

Anyone else noticed that you can now buy an Apple glucose test kit? Looks sort of cool; you can see it at the Apple store. I'm not real clear on the details, but think it syncs with Apple stuff including Apple Watch.
