Need help with step counter

I need help with a step counter device.  I have the "stepz" app on my phone, but when my phone needs charging I can't use the stepz app.  I also have a Fitbit One - which is an older model that I can keep in my pocket of my jeans.  Recently my fitbit one will accept a charge but it seems to have lost contact with bluetooth.  I have other multiple medical devices that are in contact with bluetooth, so the connection should work for fitbit one, but it doesn't.  Does anyone have a step counter they really like that could give me their opinion?

I don't have a Fitbit, but I do use the Stepz app. I carry my phone in my pocket all day. I put it under my pillow when I go to bed and charge it each night when I am asleep. Maybe you could try that?

I have stepz in my phone, but I don't carry my phone on me all the time and when I do walk it's with me but the distances are pre-measured. I don't have a Fitbit or a smart watch to count my steps.

Wally and John both use Fitbit so they will be able to help you. As far as Bluetooth is concerned, you could try searching for devices again and you might find the Fitbit listed again.

My first Fitbit (an Alta HR) suffered the same demise. The usual run arounds with tech reps, etc., yielded no solutions. I was given a new Fitbit Versa this Christmas which performs much more reliably in all ways and is sufficiently water resistant to be worn in the shower. It maintains its Bluetooth connection easily. It's paired to my iPad but always reconnects immediately when it's been out of range and synchs much more quickly. Of course, I've no real idea how accurate it is, but appears much better sorted out at least so far.

Grammabear, like Barbara said you could charge your phone at night.  Don't use your USB port on your computer.  Use the plug in adapter that came with the phone.
You might want to call Fitbit support.  A reset may fix the problem.  I don't remember how to do it but they are very nice and will walk you through it while you are on the phone.

Thanks to you all for your input.  I did contact a moderator in the fitbit online "community" for instructions on how to do a hard reset.  It was successful the 2nd time I tried it.  My fitbit is old and no longer do they provide support for it, nor do they sell it anymore.  I have a large wrist so many of the current models do not fit me.  My fitbit One just remains in the pocket of my jeans where it usually works fine.

I know eventually I will have to get a new one, but until then I can try recharging my phone at night.  I run into problems when I do a lot of streaming of music to my new hearing aids which uses a ton of battery power.

If you use the Fitbit only for step counts you could opt for several other cheaper brands when you buy.
