Is it Monday yet??? Love seat/recliner sleeping is not agreeing with me at all!

Did some grocery shopping and stopped by the local farmer's market.  Got some great green tomatoes there last week.  Sadly, none this week.  They said next weekend.

Same here, Barb. It amazes me to think that I slept in the recliner for quite a few years before I got on CPAP & gradually learned to sleep lying down again. I guess in those days I prob'ly wasn't sleeping well anyhow, because of the apnea. Even now, I sleep on the sofa (it's a long one, so room to stretch out) because it's often too hot upstairs in the bedroom, but tonight I'm looking forward to going upstairs because it's 66° out & feels wonderfully cool! Sleeping in the recliner just doesn't work anymore!

Today looks to be the last of our long heat wave with cooler weather arriving tomorrow.

107 (5.93) this morning.  Well, I deserve it.  I had taco salad last night, taco fillings in a bowl so no tortillas but I pigged out and also quite a few tomatoes and onions but it was so good !  So I can live with a higher fasting and it will come down later.
It's going to be another smoky day today, it was really bad yesterday.  We had a scare yesterday as fire trucks were going by the house and over the pass and we got a call from a neighbor that a fire had started about a mile on the other side of the pass which makes it about 4 miles from here.  Fortunately they got on it quickly with fire crews, helicopter water drops and a tanker with borate, the red fire retardant stuff.  A total of only about 10 acres of brush and Joshua Trees but it was right on the highway, which means it was likely someone throwing a cigarette out the window, and the fire retardant was on the road.  It is slippery as snot so the highway was shut down for several hours before they let traffic go through.

Bathroom seems to be drying well.  Hopefully when they come out on Monday, they will be able to remove the blowers and dehumidifier.  One more night on the recliner is all I hope!

Kind of chilly up here this morning but should then be hot the rest of the week.

Starting to feel like fall...

We have a young sugar maple that's losing its leaves already, and looking a dull brown color. I think it's too early and am tempted to call in a tree doc to be sure the tree is all right. We planted the sapling back in about 1990, and sure don't want to lose it. 

And yeah - we've dropped into the low-to-mid 50s overnight this week. I'm lovin' it!

90 (4.99) this morning.  Well ! We actually did get some rain yesterday, along with thunder and lightening.  Not a lot, about 0.10", but still it was rain and it was wet.   
Still getting a lot of smoke from the fire which is only 5% contained and now nearing more homes.  Hope they got some of the rain over there.
Temp. is cooling down some here also, 87° which is down from 90° and low this morning 50° but it doesn't feel like Fall yet.

My carpet is dry and reinstalled, no stains or anything as it was clean water.  The noisy machines all went to their own home yesterday evening!!  I got a pretty good night's sleep last night!  Yay!! 

The total cost is just a bit more than my deductible on my homeowners ins so today I called them and canceled the claim I had put in motion.  Don't want a few bucks to raise my rate.
