Another 92 (5.1) this hot morning, 101 (5.6) at bedtime last night. Feeling awful still, and the heat in the 90's isn't helping!!

Wally, the Erskine fire made my NASA feed this morning.  http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=88278&src=twitter-nh

Tamagno, glad the peepers are doing well.  My Ophthalmologist says I only need to come in every 2 years but I'm sticking to the once a year Medicare covers. I do wear glasses, but rx hasn't changed in 3 years.

Thanks for the link Barbara, the green area due West of the fire is the mountains where I live.  With the smoke going straight North we haven't seen any smoke for the last two days.  The latest map shows full containment along the East side and that is between the fire area and our place.  Good for our side at least.
Sure hope you feel better soon.  It's a bummer having to deal with feeling crummy.

@wally, good news about the fire under control & the wind helping out some. Why don't you tell us a little more in the thread below (if you don't feel being intruded upon)

Tamagno

197 this morning.

I'll add my attaboy, Rocky!

Barbara, that's the second kinked tubing you've had lately - very disappointing to say the least. Will T-Slim replace the infusion set?

Wally, that's great news! Still really lousy for everyone who lost homes, however.

I'm off this morning to get my permanent IVIG installed at the hospital - no more blown veins!

Snap Sweety and your yesterday Barb, 92 (5.1) this morning.  Yes, good news about the fire and yesterday we had cloud cover and even some rain in the fire area.  Although there were also lightening strikes also there were no incidents from them.  Cooler temps helped a great deal.  Containment now at 60% and full containment expected by Friday or Saturday.  It is amazing the amount of personnel and equipment being used to try and tame this monster.  I live on a small two lane state highway that is the only road from east Kern County into this area and is the only road from the West and Bakersfield also.  Much of the equipment and personnel have gone by my house and it was a steady stream.  The Cadaver dogs have finished their search and thankfully no more human remains were found.  Amazingly California has had 290 wildfires so far since January 1st and our fire season has not really begun.  Five years of drought has caused serious danger all over the state.  Up in my area there are so many dead pine trees it is scary so we really have to keep an eye out.
Yes SKB, I will post on that thread, I meant to earlier and got side tracked, not unusual for me.   ::)

89 (4.93) this hot morning, 96 (5.32) at bedtime last night.  I am sick of being sick and sick of the heat!!

Wally glad to hear the fire is so far contained.

Tamagno, I think that comment was meant for grammabear.  I don't take any diabetes meds any more.

278 this morning - still not sure why I'm running so high...

Well, the port procedure was not without problems. Naturally, the strange environment and sensory overload caused bad Stiff Man spasms so they gave me Valium. But, the actual surgery took an hour and a half and the port itself is metal and much larger than I'd expected requiring a 2" incision just below my sternum. They closed it with glue which promptly failed a half hour after I got home causing me to bleed profusely and landing me in the ER for the rest of the afternoon. They put in 11 stitches to close it. Hopefully now it's okay, but of course the local anesthetic they'd used has long since worn off...
