The old time cottonwoods were what I grew up with - in fact, grandparents' home was called 'the Cottonwoods'. We kids always thought the cotton was wonderful, but apparently others weren't so pleased, because it wasn't too many years before I, as a adult, moved to a newly developed area and all the trees they'd planted were cottonless cottonwoods. I remember feeling a little cheated!  ;)

About half of my10 or so cottonwoods were supposed to be cottonless.  They were for the first few years I was here, but not any more!!  I read somewhere online that the cottonless only lasts like 7-10 years and then they start producing cotton.

114 this morning.

We've always got an effluvium of cottonwood cotton this time of year from a number of "wild" ones out in the woods. Like Shanny, I rather like it.

It'll be followed shortly by clouds of June bugs (crazily enough in June) but I think their life cycle is only a couple of days.

99 (5.48) this morning.  Cloudy yesterday but not a drop of rain.  Same forecast for today, warming up next week.
Type 2 since 1993.  Control with LCHF diet.

84 (4.65) this cloudy and breezy morning, 78 (4.32) at bedtime last night.

Rain and thunderstorm in forecast, but I doubt it...

wasted 3 good strips before i got the trick with the meter. so finally my first test today. wsa busy yesterday. so i was 163. bad eh ?

69 this morning, but I didn't get up for good until 9:00am.

No big plans for Memorial Day other than I think I'll revert to calling it by its original Civil War name, Decoration Day.

SKB, does India have an Independence Day, End-of the Raj Day or Ghandi-Ji day? Ought to be an 80th anniversary coming in 2017, I think.

Yes 15th of August. Gandhiji birth & death are both holidays 2nd Oct & 30th Jan respectively.

All of these are "dry days". We're not supposed to drink on those days.

107 (5.93 this morning.  Kind of surprised at that.  Definitely not from what I ate.  I guess my liver is exerting it's authority again.  Warming up the next few days.  Happy memorial day to all in the USA.
