83 (4.6) this morning.  We were at 91° (32.7°C) yesterday but it looks like it will be warming up this weekend and remain hot for the next week.

Kris, it's sad that doctors, no matter what credentials they have, are so ignorant of some of the basics of diet and body metabolism.  They receive virtually no training in nutrition in medical school and rely on ADA entirely.  The idea that you need that amount of carbs comes from the fear that someone on medication will go too low and they want to avoid that at all cost.  They also know nothing about ketosis and associate it with keto-acidosis  and know nothing about dietary ketosis.  Good for you to give him a pass.

I guess this is a bit of a rant but it really chaps my hide when doctors are so ignorant and we are supposed to look at them for advice.

Wally, right?  Such a bummer that he is passing this on to other patients too.     ~mad~

85 (4.71) this sunny warm morning, 87 (4.82) at bedtime last night.

Totally agree Wally!!  And sadly most of the patients will follow  the advice of their drs and think they are doing great.  Until the complications start.  My pcp's nurse (recently retired) told me that I am his only patient that has their diabetes under control.  Now that is just sad.

Wow, that's just crazy.

And snap Barbara!

Oh, I forgot to mention (brag) my daughter was promoted to Captain in the Berkeley, CA Police Dept yesterday.  So proud of her, but also a little scared in these crazy times.

Well, you have every reason to be proud.  Quite an accomplishment.  I also don't blame you for being a bit scared as they are difficult times.  My dad was a LAPD homicide detective and retired in 1976 with 30 years of service.  In all that time he never had to draw his gun.  Different times for sure.

117 today.
@ Barbara, congrats.
@ Kris, it is frustrating to hear that lecture time & again. But I'm surprised that he hadn't heard about the LC part. Doctors may not agree with it, but they've heard about it. That's been our experience here in India.

Usually, I find my numbers starting to slide up if I'm stressed (which I think you are,viz your post in the "sleep" thread) or I'm about to come down with an infection.

79 this morning.  With my usual 30 pt spike an hour or so later.

SKB - he had heard of LCHF, just didn't approve.  And he was actually a doctor of pharmacy.  It is frustrating, especially since I just want to share the benefits of this woe.

Barbara, congrats!  We're lucky to have your daughter serving here in the Bay Area!

97 (5.37) this morning.  Fact of life, for me at least, higher protein = higher fasting bg.
Yesterdays high temp 94° (34.4°C) and warming up the next few days.  Normal for here this time of year but it looks like the central USA in in for higher than normal temps the next few days.

89 (4.93)  this warm morning, 98 (5.43) at bedtime last night.  High pollen alert and I am all stuffed up with plugged ears again.  :(

Yes, I am very proud of my daughter.  She is also a member in good standing of the CA Bar Association, so she does have a fall back job.  Proud of my son too who is a Battalion Chief in the Central County Fire Dept. serving Burlingame and Hillsborough, CA.    :) :)
