Naturally, I asked about his daughters both of whom have dumped their loser boyfriends in favor of more suitable suitors. I figured you all would want to know...

We were a bit worried about them girls.  ;D

69 this morning.  I would like to stop bouncing around all over the place during the day though, but that will require a little more discipline on my part...

Tamagno, you crack me up!

Lots and lots of lovely fog this morning...

98 (5.43) this morning.  Last Friday I had blood work done including an A1c and I had one of the Relion A1c Now kits so I thought I would test with that also and see how the results compare.  I just got the lab results today and the Relion test was 4.7 and the lab result was 4.4.  The lab result was a bit of a surprise, I didn't expect it to be that low.  The Relion home test kit is close and one time I used it before it was 5.0 and my lab results were 4.6  so it looks like the home test kit may show a bit higher number but then it's only two tests.  Still at $22 for a kit with two tests included it's a pretty cheap way to test A1c and not that bad.

180 this morning.

Rural Connecticut weather report:

Today, temperatures approaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit with humidity over 85%. Fifty percent chance of thunder storms.

In local news, Tamagno says there's a strong likelihood he'll be staying indoors practicing today...

@Tamagno, I think that it sounds like a good day to stay inside.  We are still having nice weather here, 90° (32.2°C) and sunny with humidity around 15-16%.  Supposed to warm up a bit through next week and then getting cooler.
@SKB, yeah, I was surprised actually.  My goal has been to try and stay in the 5% range, which I was able to do after the first 3 months of starting LCHF.  I have had a 4.6 before and others around 5.0 - 5.1 but this is the lowest.  Just shows that an old dog with a pancreas that has been beat up over 20 years of "conventional wisdom"  still has a chance to improve a lot.

68 (3.77) this mostly clear morning, 74 (4.1) at bedtime last night.

Tamagno, I'd be staying inside too!!

Wally, when I got a 4.4 my pcp had a hissy fit that it was too low!! I've been in the 4% club since July of 2013.  I bounce around a bit at 4.9 right now, but I try to stay in the 4%.

187 this morning.

Weirdly enough, considering the weather, it's time to get firewood in for the winter and have the chimney sweep in.

Also have to get a new snow blower this year. The last one was a John Deere - the third device I've had of that brand - and I'll never buy another. I'm going with old-line tried and true, Ariens. Cheaper and built like a tank.

85 (4.71) this morning.  Warmer yesterday but only by 2 degrees.  Tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day and then cooling down quite a bit next week.   ;D
Tamagno, here we don't usually start collecting firewood until late September or October.  We do occasionally get a bit of snow but not enough to need a snow blower.  It can get cold here though, sometimes in the single digits.

Barb, I am glad that my present PCP has no problem with my low A1c.  She is happy with my bg control and has never had anything negative to say.  She gladly wrote me a prescription for test strips for 4 times a day.  Compared to my last doctor she is a jewel.  Good doctors are so hard to find.

Thanks for the reminder to call the chimney sweep! We have about half our firewood in already - since we must buy it nowadays, so just need to call for another big load & we'll be set.

80 (4.43) this partly cloudy morning, 75 (4.16) at bedtime last night.

Today is my 3 year cancerversary.  3 years cancer free, 2 more to go to call it gone/cured. I'm celebrating with a lovely rib eye steak, fresh local chanterelle mushrooms sautéed in Kerrygold butter with shallots, a nice green salad and a glass (or 2) of champagne!!  ;D

A reason to celebrate for sure.  I remember when you announced that you had received the "dreaded call" from your doctor.  Seems like just a short time ago.  My how time flies.  This is good news for sure.  Enjoy your dinner and, yes, the champagne.
