When I hit the reply button and get the box to enter type there is a cursor there but it will not accept any input.  You have to click on it again to be able to enter text.

I think that has always been the case. I tried both, the Reply and the Quick Reply (at the bottom). In both cases I had to click inside the text box to have the cursor ready for typing.

I basically only use this on iPad and things often work a bit differently. I'd like, for example, to change my avarar photo but haven't found a way in iOS. Likely it'll be more straightforward on my laptop or perhaps in a different browser. I'll try both.

By the way, I, for one, kind of like playing around with these sorts of changes and trying to sort out workarounds.

For your avatar change, you will need to go into your Profile / Forum Profile. There is an option to upload images. Once you click that, the iPad will give you the option to into your Pictures app and select which one you want to upload. However, there is a size restriction of 65 x 65 pix for the Avatars. If you are not able to do it, you could attach it here to your post and I will do it for you.

Change is the only constant - is what is said by the wise. I think in due course of time as all of us are settled with the new version, we will really like it a lot.

No, it hasn't always been that way.  Like you said the quick reply has an empty box and it is obvious that you need to click on the box to get a cursor.  When I click in the reply button I get a box with a blinking cursor.  It looks like it is ready to accept text but it isn't.  You have to click on the box to be able to enter text even though there is a cursor there.  Not a big deal when you know what is going on but I can see it being confusing to someone new.

I am able to type without having to click the box Wally. I get the  blinking cursor and then am able to type w/out clicking the box. I'm on a MacBook Air. I checked it out on my iPad mini and when I hit reply I get an empty box which I do have to click to get the blinking cursor, then I can type. Maybe it has to do with the system you are using?

I checked on my laptop and the iPad. Both require a click in the box to have the blinking cursor appear. On the iPad for obvious reasons. Unless you click in the box, the keypad will not pop-up. But on the laptop also I need to click before typing. Nevertheless, I will find out from the developers what is the default behaviour.

ETA - Over at the SMF site also I experienced the behaviour of the editor. The box needs to be clicked to start typing.

It's not a big thing but it is kind of confusing.  I am on a desktop using Windows 10.  The quick reply has an empty box and you need to click on it to get the cursor to enter text.  That is normal.   When I click on the reply button and get the text box there is already a blinking cursor there.  it looks like it is ready for entering text but nothing happens until you click on it again.  The fact that the cursor is there is what threw me.  It took me a bit to figure out that I had to click on it again.  Apparently it is dependent on what system you are using and probably isn't worth worrying about.  If I figured it out probably anyone can.

A bug that I have found and reported to the developers has to do with NEW button in the Recent Posts. Thought I'd bring it to your notice as well.

There are 2 ways to access the Recent Posts on the forum.
(1) Through the Recent Posts block in the Right Panel OR
(2) Clicking the Unread Posts link in the right corner of the LinkTree bar (just below the Main Menu)

If you click the NEW button in the Right Panel (1) it will take you to the 1st post in the last page of the Topic. This is not the intended behaviour.

If you click the NEW button in the Board view after clicking the Unread Posts link, it will take you to your 1st unread post, which is how it should be.

I have been frustrated by this problem since the update. I don't see a New button in the right column anywhere. Where is it? Do you mean Updated Topics? I haven't tried that one yet. Will do after I post this.

Ahhh, yes, now I see it, but I really don't recall seeing it before.

I don't know if my issue is considered a bug, but when I login and I see the right hand column that shows which member has posted in a particular section - I click on that and it takes me to that post.  After I've read that post and want to read some more posts from the side bar column, it has disappeared completely.  I click on 'forum' at the time and I am not able to see the right hand column where Amazon ad usually is located.  Is this just my problem or am I perhaps not doing something correctly.
