70 this morning.

Sounds like considerable snow there, BigSkyGal! I remain hopeful it doesn't find its way east.

Should it come up for you, Wally, I discovered that my Versa 2 much prefers the 2.4g side of my LAN for connecting to Alexa; it loses connection too often on the 5G side.

Cold here this morning, but I think no precipitation. Still haven't had the need to start up wood stoves, but it is just a bit early for that.

Wally - So far the frozen scallops are all I have ever seen here as we don't have a fresh fish market.  Sometimes we see fresh salmon at our grocery, but most often it is frozen fish that is offered for sale.

Barbara - I think there is something to be said for reaching out to another living creature by shovelling a path to the food you put out for them.  We feed bird and get pleasure from watching their feeding patterns.  Could they get by without our seed, I am fairly sure they could and do.  But for us, it is cheap entertainment.

Our 'snow' is supposedly coming tonight.  I would not cry if Mother Nature forgot to deliver it and sent it somewhere else.   ;D

90 this morning.  No shoveling here but it is a bit cooler today although still in the mid 70s and should be in the low 80s next week.
My computer booted up then crashed this morning and I had to install my backup which took about 1 1/2 hours.  I have no idea what happened but it absolutely would not boot to windows again until I installed the backup.  I am glad that I at least had a backup, I have had a crash before without a backup before and consider it a lesson learned although it was made on 9/12 so anything after that is gone but mostly all is good.  I should backup more often.
Tamagno, I have not noticed any problem with my Versa 2 connecting to the 5g on my home internet but I seem to have good connection everywhere on the property.  I know the 2.4g is a stronger signal and the Versa doesn't need the faster speed of the 5g but it was just what I chose at the start.
Yeah Grammabear, I am pretty sure the scallops we have here were previously frozen and thawed out before putting them in the butchers display.

105 this crisp morning. When I got up just before 10AM it was all of 3° outside.

Yesterday's high was 29°, today's forecast is 21°/1° but no new snow. Thank goodness!

Grammabear, I used to put the bird seed out for "Cat TV" for Baby Boo, now it is for my own entertainment. I put it put every day so I guess there was plenty left over for them yesterday until I could get out to put more seed out.

Tamagno, something you posted the other day got stuck in my mind. You said you had the chorizo in your cart... thing is if you hold things there in your cart for days or even a few hours I think (skb can verify the time) when you go to purchase them, even if you go through our site we won't get credit for the purchase. To save items for later purchase use the Shopping List, then when you are ready go through our site and go to the Shopping List and tick off the items you want to buy at that time right away. Purchase them and we get credit. I have several pages of things on my Shopping List! We learned the hard way with a lot of my purchases being lost because I used the Wish List.

118 today morning.

Yes, I think Amazon tags the site link for 24 hours after which that gets lost. I really don't remember how we had figured out the right way it should be done, but it is there somewhere in the site records. I'll try fish that out.

66 this morning.

BigSkyGal, that's interesting about the Amazon Shopping List - I didn't even know it was there, but will start using it. Many things get added to my cart, but never bought and they pretty quickly disappear, so that should solve that problem as well.

Wally, the 2.4g issue with Versa 2 only relates to its Alexa connection, otherwise it does fine with the 5G side of my LAN.

I wonder what caused your PC to crash, Wally? Good thing you had that back-up, but if memory serves that PC is fairly new. Have you tried downloading the Windows 10 update? Could be that if you have.

Tamagno - Barbara explained the 'shopping list' thing to me also a short while back and her way of doing it really works.  My purchases always seem to get lost too, and now I am seeing them pop up on skb's ADVERT segment which is good.

Wally - Mighty good thing you are tech savvy so you could fix your PC problem.  If it was me, I would have to call someone and be sad until they could come and fix my problem.

I still don't have an answer for my microalbumin/creatinine ratio problem.  I find myself in the middle between a disagreement between the nephrologist and the rheumatologist.  I decided over the weekend that if either of them call my home today, I'm going to fire them both and start over again after I speak in person with my GP who actually has nothing to do with this whole debacle.

93 this morning.  Today is going to be colder than we have seen for a long time with a high of 67°.  Right now at 7:45 it is 45° and it has been windy.  On the other side of the mountains closer to the coast there are red flag warnings as the fire danger is going to be high because of the winds.
Interesting Tamagno, I don't really use Alexa on my Versa very much as I get notifications on the Echo so I haven't seen that.
I learned a long time ago from experience to keep a backup on another hard drive.  I use a program called Acronis that I have had for several years since I got Windows 7.  I have no idea why the computer crashed but something must have been corrupted.  Yes it is a fairly new build but I guess things happen.  My C drive is a 1T SSD and it is shown as 100% healthy and after installing the backup all is working just fine.  I also have my iPhone backed up on the cloud and that could be handy.  My only regret is that I had not run a backup more often and that is something I am going to change.

97 this cold cloudy morning.

21° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 32°/10°. I will sure be glad when this cold snap breaks! This is Jan/Feb weather, not Oct weather!

I agree Grammabear, if your drs are disagreeing, I'd go back to my primary for some new referrals and maybe some clarification if he is able.

I subscribe to Carbonite which backs up my computer. I am not tech savvy enough to be able to fix it if things went wrong.

Now I am completely well. The throat is ok.

45 this morning.

I don't know why tech stuff seems to change without my intervention, vis, I switched my Versa 2 back to the 5G internet and now it's fine plus, I discover this morning while doing daily maintenance chores that the photo I'd assigned to my Apple home had disappeared. Go figure...

I did get my Amazon shopping cart reassigned to the Shopping List section; hope it helps, SKB. A few items I'm waiting for sale prices which will be over the next couple of weeks.

I'm seeing my oncologist this morning to get results from the CAT scan I had the other day. I'd had much higher hopes for the levothyroxine as I'm still spending too much of my day napping. While I want a good report today, there does still seem to be something going on.

When you get to be 'older' it seems like you spend a good share of your time waiting for the pharmacist, the Doctor or Specialists to call and answer whatever question you contacted them for in the beginning.  After almost one month, I'm still waiting for the Rheumatologist office where I was referred, to decide if I deserve to have an appointment or not.  Bah..humbug.

Yesterday we had snow that melted quickly.  Today it is 32 deg F again still trying to snow.  Good day to think about some comfort food like Cream of Cauliflower soup maybe.

86 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 66° so the coolest we have seen since last Winter.  Today it is supposed to get to 73° and then 80° Thursday and in the low 80s for a few days after that.  High winds and very low humidity has done it's job and two wildfires are roaring in Orange County South of Los Angeles.   This isn't forest areas but brush in rolling hills with a few trees here and there.  A lot of homes are in these hills with large housing tracts so several thousand people are under mandatory evacuation orders.  The winds are around 50-60 MPH so it is like a blow torch and not a lot they can do to halt the fires progress.  It is still windy this morning but it is supposed to lessen this afternoon.
Tamagno, I don't have an answer but I have noticed that our "devices" seem to have a mind of their own.

109 this frigid morning. It was 10° when I got up at 9AM....

Yesterdays high was 23°, a slight warming trend for today with forecast of 41°/23°. It is 22° right now so I am skeptical it will get as warm as 41°, but hoping it does.
