Tamagno

156 this morning.

My visit with the neurologist yesterday went pretty well. She's prescribing a different med that gets formulated elsewhere according to her guidelines and is applied as a cream. In that way, there's less of the nasty systemic side effects (she says). It'll be interesting to try anyway.

We've got a high wind warning this evening and overnight with winds over 60mph. Road crews have been out trimming trees around in power lines. Hopefully, we don't lose power.

I'll go ahead and wish everyone a Merry Christmas in case we lose power, phone, internet, etc.

Yesterday we hit 60 deg F which is a record high for us for 23rd December.  Today is a whole 'nother' matter however.  Our temperature at present is 10 deg F.

Tamagno - Here is hoping your new medicine will do what the Doctor says it should do - minus nasty side effects.

83 this morning.  It is cooler than it was with an overnight low of 29° and heading to a high of 55° today.  Probably about the same tomorrow.
Tamagno, hope the new med. works out.

32° was the high again yesterday, today's forecast is 39°/18°. It was 15° when I got up just after 9AM. Not sure it will make it to 39°...

I was a bit dismayed while I was out shopping yesterday at the number of people not wearing masks! Especially at the grocery store. Our cases are still high and with the Holidays they surely will be even higher. I just don't understand what people are thinking...

Wally, incredibly it's warmer here this morning at nearly 60 than where you are!

For Christmas morning, I've tried adding egg nog to my coffee (I'd hated it as a child, probably because my dad always spiked it with something) but to be honest I can't say I taste much.

Our high winds were dramatic overnight and scheduled to continue until around 1:00pm. So far, praise God, we've still got electricity!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I woke this morning with a 'start' as we lost electricity to our house at 5:45 a.m.  I use a cpap machine for breathing while asleep.  Guess what, if the electricity stops - you wake up fast.  Power just came back on about 10 minutes ago and I hope it stays on.

I have Black Rifle chocolate flavored coffee in my cup this morning along with heavy whipping cream and a bit of stevia. We hope to host a Christmas breakfast instead of a Christmas meal later in the day.  It is cold here at 9 deg F and 15mph winds NW.

94 this morning.  Yeah Tamagno, that is not the normal.  We only got to 51° yesterday and  it was 29° overnight.  It is supposed to be a bit warmer today.  There is still a small chance of rain Monday bit is has come down from 40% to 20% so not a very big chance.
I used to favor "bullet proof coffee" in the morning with CO, HWC and sweetener in it but I have  changed to just plain black and don't really like anything in it anymore.
Barbara, I guess that I am lucky here in that people around here really do take wearing a mask seriously and stores require it and people seem OK with that.  For that reason I am not as worried about going shopping.  Our cases here have gone up a lot and mainly because there are about 300 workers coming into town for the repairs needed on the Military base that were caused by the earthquake.  There will be even more after the New Year and they are coming from all over.

It only got to 30° yesterday, today's forecast is 39°/23°. It is 25° right now...maybe but kind of doubt it will get up to 39°.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Had a long phone chat with my son this morning, he was on his way to his mountain getaway. He just had the Moderna(?) vaccine and didn't have much of a reaction to it. H is a fire battalion chief so first responder. He is going to send me a box o N95 masks, he says they have thousands of them. Wow, great present!

120 today.

Yes vaccine shots are being given and obviously those under threatening situations need them more than others. A nephew has tested +ve 2 days ago, and my wife was with him last Sunday, but no we don't show any signs of the virus. I am beginning to firmly believe that diet does play a role.

Yes, that may very well play a role, we are proactive in our health and that may well be a preventive. At this point I am cautious re the vaccine because of my previous anaphylaxis issues.

Grandson arrived last evening to spend the rest of Christmas weekend at our house.  He has a job now, so visits might be few and far between.

Coffee sure tastes good this morning as it is only 18 deg F outdoors.

85 this morning.  We had a high of 58° yesterday with an overnight low of 29° but it is supposed to get to 66° today.  I don't think it will get that high but it could.  Then for the rest of the year it will be in the high 50s.
I think that diet and lifestyle will go a long way to improve how well your body can deal with a virus it won't prevent you from getting it and that can be a real problem.

Barbara I am glad you are getting a box of N95 masks.  Some clinics here are absolutely requiring a medical grade paper mask before they even allow you in the door.
