The thing is, that we use WhatsApp more for work and less for general social chit chat.

138 this morning.

The single-digit cold has arrived and will continue through tomorrow. Good day to stay in.

To settle a controversy, SKB, is this time of year called summer, winter or something else in India? I know an Indian neurologist here who insists it's called winter, but I'm not so sure...

Depends on how you define winter. Parts of North India are extremely cold this time of the year, but the lower half of the country is comfortable between 20-30oC.
But to answer your question, yes it is called winter.

115 this morning.

It is more than single digits here at -15deg F when I got up today.  It has since warmed up to -8deg F.  Definitely a good day to stay inside where it might be much warmer.  We got a few inches of snow yesterday and then the below zero cold today.

skb - During the Winter season in India, is it cold enough to require additional layers of warmer clothing?

106 this morning,  We were at 32° just before the sun came up this morning but warming up to around 70° today and it looks like that will be the same for the weekend.  We have a cold front going through Tuesday and the temps will drop but still in the low 60s and then back to the 70s.  The Weather Channel is predicting a warmer than normal Spring for the majority of the country so we will see how that works out.

98 this cloudy morning. It is ever so lightly snowing, not even sticking. Hope it stays this way as I have to go to the hospital for the ultrasound tomorrow morning.

38°was the high yesterday. Forecast for today is high of 40°, over night low of 28°. It has definitely been warmer here than normal. I hope I didn't just jinx myself!!

For most of the country, yes warm clothes are necessary, not in Mumbai though. It doesn't get cold enough here. The lowest we've seen this season is something like 13oC (55oF). And this number is touched for a few minutes sometimes during the night when the city is asleep.

106 this morning.

Thanks for the information, SKB, although not all involved will find it good news...

Here this morning it's zero degrees out. Got up early to clean ashes from the wood stove and get it started again. In just a bit I'll get my second stove started. Wish this joint was better insulated.

We have recovered from the bitter cold and this morning we have a balmy 23 deg F.  I hope the Weather Channel is right in that we will have a warmer than usual Spring.  I'm tired already of snow and more snow.

96 this morning.  A warmer Spring would be nice except here we are dealing with no rain at a time when we usually have some.  February is usually one of California's better months for rain and we haven't had any so far and it looks like we won't get any by the end of the month.  Here we haven't had any rain since the day after Christmas.  March and April can still be wet so hoping for better wetness before summer.

Hope the ultrasound went well, BigSkyGal!

It'd have been a beautiful day yesterday if it hadn't been so bitterly cold. Still, with both my wood stoves fired up, the house is quite warm. Not quite so Arctic feeling here this morning and going up to mid-40s this afternoon so all is well.
