Barbara, it may do you a lot of good to see an orthopedic doctor about your knee.  As we get older Osteoarthritis is a common problem and it gave me a lot of trouble a couple of years ago.  The first injections I had lasted for about 6 months and then had to be repeated but gave me great relief.  A newer type of injection was available a while later and that injection has given me complete relief and it has been over two years.  It is a type of steroid and I was informed that it may raise your bg but it did so only a little bit and I really didn't have a problem.  It is done in the doctor's office and is really quite easy.  Just a suggestion but it may make a difference.

Thanks for the info Wally. I've had the shots in my hands a couple of times and so far so good. As I said in the exercise thread, my knees are already compromised and gastro recommends knee replacements as he had a great reaction to them.  I am alone, not vaxxed due to fear of anaphylaxis and don't know how I can recover from a double surgery alone. I can deal with the knee for now, been there done that for a long time. Bad knees sux!!

Managed at least 5 km yesterday as well. I don't have the phone on me most of the time so my counted steps read about 3.6 km only.

5256 steps yesterday 12/12  I am kind of picking it up a bit.  Soreness is still there but not as bad.
Yeah Barbara, knee replacement was an option for me also but the injections were an alternative to try and I am quite happy with how well it worked in my case.  I really think it would be worth a visit to an orthopedic specialist to get the best information.

1508 steps yesterday as I have an ongoing toe that is very slow to heal since having ingrown toenail removed.  Podiatrist says people with diabetes heal slower, guess he is right in spite of having decent glucose numbers.

That is quite correct. I'm not certain about T1 but in the case of T2s the internal damage starts maybe 10 years before the numbers start to go wild. So much of the blood vessel damage has already taken place by the time you realise that you have diabetes.
