6,413 steps yesterday.

We'll get back there Wally, it is just going to take time and patience.

3545 steps yesterday I think.  I am not sure now just how accurate my step counter on the phone is anymore.  When I first installed a step counter I was noticing that it was missing steps and counted each step I took for 150 steps and sure enough the phone counter had missed several steps so I downloaded another step counter and it was spot on over several times I counted my steps over a 100-150 step run and I kept both on my phone and the first counter always ran behind the second one.  At the end of the day the first counter I had was 1500 steps or more less than the second counter.  I still kept both on my phone and it was a puzzle as they both use the count from the Apple sensor.  Wednesday I noticed that now both counters had the same count and kept it up all day.  Yesterday they were also in sync and had the same step count.  Today I have walked for a couple of times and counted the steps and both trackers have missed many steps so I don't know what to believe any more.  I am pretty sure that I got at least 3500 steps yesterday but I believe that it was probably more than that.  I still have my Fitbit but it goes on the wrist and since I am still using the walker it doesn't count steps worth a darn.  I don't know, I might try a clip on pedometer to see if it is any better, or not.

Sorry you are having so many problems with the counters. Can you put the Fitbit on an ankle somehow? Maybe that would count the steps better?

I doubt that. These gadgets have sensors that read the pulse and maybe other things from just below the wrist. The same may not be available at the ankles.

Why not just add 10% to your phone readings.

I don't have a Fitbit and know nothing about how they work, it was just a thought that came to my mind...

You have an Apple phone so an Apple Watch would make more sense if you ever decide to buy one.

6,544 steps yesterday.

I have used an app on my iPhone for years and it seems pretty accurate so far.

3732 steps yesterday.  Yeah, I don't think that the Fitbit would work as it should around the ankle although I did think about it also but I could not fasten it around my ankle with the included strap, even the large strap.  There are a lot of step counting apps on the iPhone app store and most or all are free (with ads) and they all use the phones sensor to count steps so they should be the same but I found that they are not.  I don't know how to point to a particular app because they don't have unique names.  The first I tried says pedometer and the second says steps.  I knew the first one I tried was missing steps as I counted as I walked then checked the app and saw the difference.  I really thought the second one I tried was right as I checked it several times and it was the same as my count. I have kept both on my phone to compare, for instance yesterday app#1=3394 steps and app#2=3732 steps.  That is over a 300 step difference.  I thought then that the second app was going to be accurate all the time but then I found out that even it was not consistent and at times it misses counting some steps, just much less often than the other app.  It is not really a big deal and I am not going to stress about it.  Apparently some times these apps miss getting the count from the apple sensor and some apps are better than others.

I still wonder Wally if relying somewhat on the walker doesn't somehow mess with the counts?

Well, it could but I don't lean on the walker and I take normal steps.  I walk at a normal pace for me, about 105 steps/min., so I don't think it would interfere, but it could, but it doesn't explain why there is such a difference in the count of the two apps.  I have had days when the one app is over 1000 steps under the other and I have had days when they were both exactly the same so pretty weird.

That really is a mystery, hope you can figure it out soon!

I don't know what my actual step count was yesterday.  I was playing around with other means.  I actually did get my Fitbit on my ankle and it seems to work just fine for counting steps.  I tried it for a bit while also using the phone and during that time I got 540 steps on the phone and 1310 steps on the Fitbit!  ~tnk~
I don't think the Fitbit was counting extra steps but I don't actually know.  One of the problems is that it is not possible to check the Fitbit without sitting down and taking it off.  It isn't really something I would really want to do as a rule.  I did buy a pedometer from Amazon and got it yesterday.  That is all it is, just a step counter you can clip on your waist band or pocket.  I tried it on the waist band and it seemed to miss steps so I tried it on my pocket and it seemed to be quite accurate.  I got it in the afternoon so just used it for a while.  Today I started it and my phone at the same time so it will be interesting to see how they compare.

5,861 steps yesterday. Up, down, no rhyme nor reason, just doing what I can...

Only 2712 steps yesterday.  I am going to use the pedometer for my step count.  it seems to be the most accurate although the total count from the phone app was only a couple hundred steps off.  A low count yesterday.  Walking is taking a back stage to my play time.  I am trying to work on my desk area to make it more suitable for the flight simulator and get involved and forget to walk.  It does kind of conflict with doing other things.
