Quote from: walkerwally1 on March 26, 2023, 11:25:23 AMYeah Barbara, risking falling is not worth it at all.  Trying to walk on the snow is a real hazard.  I remember when we lived on the mountain walking outside after a snowfall and especially the next day after it had frozen it was really difficult to keep from falling down.

It snowed a lot more than I expected, not taking any chances with a fall so I will stay in my nice cozy house, after I do a tiny bit of clearing snow for the kitties.

2693 steps yesterday.  I have an appointment with my PCP next week so I need to get lab work done and I was going to go this morning but I forgot and had HWC in my coffee and it is supposed to be fasting.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
I remember reading Dr. Thomas Dayspring who is a well known Lipidologist saying that Doctors would learn more if they took lipid tests when people didn't fast but they are not taught how to understand the results so fasting is easier.

I have read a lot of his articles and have learnt a lot from him.

I would also love to see some lipid tests done on people who fast regularly after extending fasting, say 72 hours. That is when the LDL receptors in hepatic cells would begin to retract into the cells and no new LDL would be put out in circulation.

3091 steps yesterday.  Sorry you are having such trouble with a bloody nose Barbara.  I wish there was a solution for that.  I used to have bloody noses a lot when I was a kid and the ENT told my mother I would grow out of it and thankfully I did but I don't believe that is an option for you.  I can't help thinking that there would be something that could be done to prevent it.

Yeah, me too. Wally. It is just n the last year or so that they have been a real problem, to the point I am afraid to blow my nose too strongly. I did learn an "old school" trick at the care facility when I got a bloody nose there. You stuff your upper lip with tissue and gently pinch nostril for a bit and it usually stops in less than 1/2 hour. This one was bad and it took a bit longer, but it has finally stopped.

I guess I blew my nose just a bit too hard this morning...

I'm sorry that you are having a rough time. It is just out of habit that we "Like" every post that is made, though there is nothing to like in that post. I hope and pray the bleeds don't occur again.

had one more about an hour later but it was lighter and stopped fairly fast.

My neighbor came over and using his little portable charger got my car running!! Yay! He said run it for an hour (I did about 1.25 hour working around kitty feeding schedule). Then let it sit an hour and see if it starts again. Went just a bit over again but it turned right over first try! Double Yay!! Ran it about 1.5 hour and moved it out of the garage and turned it around so nose faced out in case I need a charge tomorrow. I am so relieved!! I will go to Les Schwab tomorrow and have battery tested (it was installed 9/17 so probably about ready to replace anyway). Which I will probably do just to feel better...

What a relief!! Feel about 75% out of the woods now...

Did a 5.5-6.0 km walk today. Total steps as per counter is 8978. The number for the rest of the day will make it a lot higher.

1873 steps yesterday.  The draw station at the hospital where I go for my lab work was jam packed yesterday so the wait was long, over an hour, then when I finally got back my right leg was really giving me a bad time.  Walking just didn't seem to be something I was willing to do.  Hoping for a little better day today.
Glad you got your car started Barbara, I was pretty sure it would start unless the battery was bad.  If it is 6 years old I would change it regardless of how it tested.  At that age it is pretty close to being on it's last legs.  I like to replace them before having a problem and getting 5 years out of a battery is what I figure is good.  To me it's worth it to not have to worry if it will start the car.

Yeah Wally, that is why I haven't posted in fasting yet. I got out of here as early as I could to get to Les Schwab and did buy a new battery (the waiting around suxed, but oh well). The old battery tested OK but I didn't want to have it fail soon, so opted for a new one.

They said maybe something was wrong with the alternator that drained the battery, I said doubt it, more likely it was 3.5 months it sat idle in the garage... (the recharge did last overnight) but I will take it to the repair shop to have them check everything else out at some point soon.

I dropped off my taxes at H&R Block and did a grocery shop...I am totally exhausted but feel really good that I can get out on my own again finally!!
