Sadly, I think his stand is the new current idea re diabetes. If you keep it in control, you are cured. I had that discussion with a nurse/dr(?) don't remember her title...at the assisted care facility. She firmly said diabetes can be reversed/cured and I have done that. I just gave up and made my food choices according to my own eating plan. It is very frustrating!!

Really ? Diabetes is no longer chronic ?

IMO they spend a major part of their time in medical school studying drugs and hardly ever devote their time to nutrition and biochemistry.

Well, if I were to believe at least 3 doctors (1 my pcp) and or nurses, it is curable. If you get it under good control you are no longer a diabetic. I got blue in the face arguing with a couple staff at the assisted card facility I was in...

5,773 steps yesterday. Well, at least I hit over 5,000 and I did walk each hour, not going to push my luck. At this point, listening to my body is more important than a high step count.

2567 steps yesterday.  I am not really giving it my best lately but I may try to pick it up a bit.  One thing I found that is interesting is that Fitbit is offering on their web store a holder for their watches that you can remove the band and put the watch in and clamp it to your belt or pocket.  I still have my Fitbit and haven't used it because it doesn't count steps worth a darn when using the walker.  I usually only use one hand but I go back and forth from one hand to the other and it doesn't work.  I ordered the holder and will see how it works.

That sounds great Wally, hope the holder works out for you. One less thing to have to fiddle with reseting daily...

Surprised myself with 7,463 steps yesterday.

Got busy switching Winter and Summer clothes, which ended up trying on a bunch of stuff. Then with rain in the forecast for overnight, had to get kitty beds covered to hopefully keep them dry. Today my. back is reminding me that I did to much...

3647 steps yesterday.  I put the Fitbit in my pocket yesterday and it works quite well.  This is what it read and I had it on the charger for a couple of hours before I started using it because I had not charged it for a while.  It has a good battery and usually lasts for about 3 days before it needs charging.  I think it will be better with the holder as without the strap it is pretty small and easy to drop.  I am pretty happy it works so well though and the cheap one I was using will go into the trash.

Yesterday I used the public transport again and am sure I got in 3k-4k steps apart from the regular ones during the whole day.

5,717 steps yesterday.

Took it easy and back is not bothering me so much today. Knee has been acting up too. I really have to get better at pacing myself because my back and knee really yell at me if I don't!

4907 steps yesterday.  I think that is the best I have been able to do for quite a while.  I am getting prompted more with the Fitbit.  It wants you to get at least 250 steps in each hour and I have it set for 12 hours from 6AM to 6PM.  Yesterday I missed the first two hours but got the next 10 hours so off to a decent start.  If I only got 250 steps an hour in it would be 3000 steps so I did more than that but I like the challenge to get at least 250 steps each hour and that is something I can do.  Now I will see how well I can do after yesterday and if I can keep up.  So far this morning I seem to be doing fine so I hope to do a repeat.

That is great Wally! I'm glad the Fitbit is back in use and is really helping.

So do you just get up and pace around the room/house. Just curious.

That is how I get most of my steps in. Unless I am running errands. With the balance issues I have, it is too risky to try to walk on the uneven ground outside.

5,809 steps yesterday. Quiet day, think I am going to have one more before I go out to run errands.

Called the local clinic and was able to get a new pcp! Trying a female this time around, new patient appointment 7/11 then she will schedule Medicare wellness exam for August. Feels like a weight off my shoulders! (20 mile round trip to see her vs 70 mile round trip for current pcp. And from past experiences, she can only be better than the pcp I have now!)
