Quote from: walkerwally1 on May 27, 2023, 11:07:05 AMI have maintained for years that distance is an arbitrary number.  Step count is the only thing that is the same no matter how tall you are.  I am sure I am sensitive to that because I am short but if I were to do 10,000 steps it would = 4 miles.  Someone with only a 6 inch linger stride with 10,000 steps would = 5 miles and we both did the same amount of work so what does distance have to do with it?
You have a point Wally. Though, if we put degree of difficulty in the mix, the results yielded would be very different.

I think I am going to tinker with the thought that the energy expended by the taller vs the shorter man would be the same, though the distance may vary.

7,626 steps yesterday.

My back is on the sore side this morning. I think all this damp weather has found a new place to settle in my body besides my knee, the vertebrae I fractured in the fall...

Tried to take it easy, but life just got in the way. Today is sunny and back is feeling better. The days and days of possible showers and thundershowers have dwindled down to just a couple in 10 day forecast. Hope the sun lasts.

4446 steps yesterday.  I think that anything over 4K and making all 12 hours of 250 steps/hour is a good day for me and anything more is a plus but it is not going to happen every day.

8,266 steps yesterday.

And I thought I was taking it easy!  I am actually thrilled to hit my goal of 7,000 steps or close to that, and am always really surprised when I surpass it. I just don't want to get in the mindset of having to push to get there or do better the next day.

It feels odd to be trying to not to do too much, but at this point I have to slow down for a while longer. It is harder to do than to push for a higher goal!

Well yesterday I had no problem slowing down, 792 steps total for the day!  Today I am over that at 7:00AM so feeling back to normal.

6,550 steps yesterday.

Happy with that # even if it isn't quite at my goal. Another dreary damp day today, how my knee and back respond to it will determine how much I can walk.

4820 steps yesterday.  I was pretty much surprised as I spent quite a bit of time at the hospital for an ultrasound but I did get a fair amount of walking there.

7,312 steps yesterday. Surprised myself.  Well, I'll just take what comes and be happy!

The day was nice but again many damp days in the forecast. The weather really messes with my activity...

4200 steps yesterday, a nice round number.  I am happy to make it to my 4K goal and that is kind of where I am going to be.

7,499 steps yesterday. At this point, who knows what will happen today?

Those nice round numbers are few and far between Wally. On the TV forum's exercise sub forum, someone said I should go buy a lottery ticket when I got one. I don't gamble, but who knows, might have been a lucky day??? LOL, probably not!

4133 steps yesterday.  Yeah, the few times I have bought a lottery ticket have resulted in $0 so I'm not too tempted.

A whopping 10,409 steps yesterday.

Spent a long time on the phone with my son (over an hour) and as per my habit, I walked around the house the whole time! In that time I added 2,280 steps to my count. Have to admit, I do feel it today!

Daughter was off camping yesterday with no service, she just left a quick message on her work sat phone but will be calling today. I see more steps than normal in today's count...
