4788 steps yesterday.  I am scheduled for a colonoscopy on the 28th of this month so I had an appointment yesterday to go over the prep before and answer any questions I had.  I have had several colonoscopy surgeries so I didn't really have any questions.  This has been quite a while for them to finally schedule this but they were waiting for my cardiologist to give his go ahead and finally got it.  I only mention this here because I spent quite a while there and expected it to cut in to my walking more but to my surprise I still did well and made all of my 250+ hours so it didn't interfere at all.  I used the cane for the entire time I went there and walked quite a bit and it worked well.  It is so much easier than dragging the walker in and out of my car.  So far I am doing pretty well with the cane although some times the walker is better but I can change from one to the other when I want so that makes it nice.

Glad to hear the cane is working well for you Wally. Which one did you get? So many choices on Amazon. I think I really should look into one also.

I was due for my colonoscopy this Spring, but with all my other issues my Gastro said to just wait until later to do it. I am on the 5 year plan so I guess a few months isn't going to make that much difference.

This is the one I bought:
Cane

I have a regular cane I got when I broke my hip but I wanted one that was more supportive.  This one has a better base that has the 4 rubber feet and I also liked the idea of the handle because if I did fall it would be helpful to get back up.  I don't care about the light but I guess it could be helpful to someone.
I was on a 3 year schedule for a colonoscopy but covid intervened and my primary decided that the Cologuard test would be a good idea and it came back positive which is not a surprise as I have had polyps every time I have had one so I saw the Gastro here and he determined that the colonoscopy would be advised.

Thanks Wally! I put it on my shopping list. It does look pretty goo.

I've had polyps every time too. But none cancerous so I guess that is why the 5 yr plan. Gastro wanted me to have time to completely heal/get over stress before any more procedures. Not sure Cologuard is worth it for same reason you had...

7,319 steps yesterday. Still trying to keep from pushing the count. I do feel better for it.  I still find myself wanting to do more and then telling myself no, not now...

Yeah I don't think the Cologuard was helpful but my pcp wanted me to try it because I had not seen the gastro.  I have had polyps but also not cancerous but Medicare will approve of a 3 year interval if polyps were found so that is what I was on.  It has now been 5 years so probably time.

I didn't know that. Not that I'm thrilled with the idea of a 3 yr plan, but I will ask my Gastro if he thinks it is necessary when I see him in Nov. Thanks for mentioning that.

27:32 min/1.99 km/200 cal, inc 4-12, max HR 162

Upped my workout a bit and finally calories caught up with distance. This means that I am getting double the output or getting value of a 4.0 km walk in just 2.0 km.
I think I have done this for the first time since mid-2021.

4574 steps yesterday.  At least I am getting to the 4K mark.  I have been switching between the cane and my walker and the cane is working pretty good but some times the walker is better.

4668 steps yesterday.  I had a really bad night, morning, Sunday with sciatica pain that kept me from getting a decent sleep so I was pretty tired and went to bed early and had a good night sleep last night so I was up early, about 4:00 AM, and feel pretty goot this morning.
