4941 steps yesterday. I actually did over 5K but that was what was on my Fitbit.  I forgot and walked about 200 steps or so and forgot to have the Fitbit with me.  I'll see how I do today.

7,400 steps yesterday. An infrequent nice round number.

Wrapped my knee in an ace bandage I had tucked away and forgotten about. Wore it for about 8 hours during the day and it did help quite a bit. Put on an Arnica patch later and today knee actually does feel a lot better. Will wrap it again for a while today.

7,012 steps yesterday.

The ace bandage is helping more than I thought it would. It isn't healing, more relieving, as a bit after I take it off, the pain is back but somewhat lessened.

6,527 steps yesterday.

My knee was really sore but had some things I had to do. Will try to take it easier today. It is still sore today.  Hope I can hold out until Thurs when I see the new pcp. I think I need to see a knee specialist. Bone & Joint would be my choice as that is where my hand dr is.

Like I said I didn't spend any time counting steps yesterday and my BIL and I spent the day doing house cleaning including using a carpet cleaner on the entire house.  He bought a new cleaner that shampoos the carpet and also works on tile and hardwood floors, pretty neat.  We kept busy most all of the day but it does look a lot better.
Yeah Barbara I think you really need to see an orthopedic specialist "bone and joint doctor" for your knee.  I have mentioned before that the injections they have now do a really good job of relieving all of the pain.  They are a type of steroid but developed specifically for the knee and not the same as what you got in your hand.  An X-ray is usually all that is needed to diagnose what you need and it is not painful.

Thanks for the idea Wally! I was hoping to get by with just shots, now it seems within the realm of possibility. Maybe I can ask the pcp to do ex-rays there. I was at that clinic a couple years ago when I fractured my finger in a fall and they did x-rays there then.  My gastro keeps telling me how happy he is that he had both knees replaced and suggesting I look into that. I'm not ready to go that far yet though w/out trying the shots first.

Your new carpet cleaner sounds wonderful!  What kind is it? I have carpet in most of the house, but wood in my large kitchen and tile in one bathroom. One device sounds awesome!

Well the knee injections are just shots and inject the product into the joint just like the cortisone injections you had in your hand.  It is up to your orthopedist if it is applicable in your case but it did wonders for me.  I hope you will be able to benefit from it.  It can be so much easier than a knee replacement.  My SIL had both knees replaced and it really did wonders for her but she in on the heavy side.

This is the cleaner my BIL got:
carpet cleaner

It says it is for hard floors and area carpets but it also worked quite well on our wall to wall carpet also.  He plans to take it to his place in Arizona that had hardwood floors throughout so he wanted this model.  There are so many models available so it depends on y our needs.

Thanks! I'll look at the cleaner. Cool that it is on Amazon! $$ for the forum too!

I'm not surprised that my knee (probably the other one too eventually) is failing. I have worked them hard in my youth from running 1/2 marathons and so many 10K's I lost count, being a nationally competitive gymnast in college, then hiking and backpacking for days at a time with late DH. I'm sure I overworked those knees and age is now getting to them... I hope I can get the shots.
