7,265 steps yesterday.

Don't know how today will go with driving up to town, seeing dentist, lots of sitting there filling out new patient forms etc.

4459 steps yesterday.  Today it is not going to be a good day for walking.  I had really bad leg cramps last night and today my calves still hurt quite a bit so I am backing off.

A surprising 6,959 steps yesterday, even with all the driving and then sitting at dentist!

Dentist again today, not sure will be walking as much today after appointment! At least after I heal, I may have more energy!

? steps yesterday but not a lot.  I did have a cramp last night but not nearly as bad and so far I seem to be doing OK.  I am just going to try to make the 250 steps each hour and not worry about total steps and so far it is working.

I had terrible cramps in my calves and feet last night too. Really bad ones. I'm going to talk to my pcp on Tues about them and see if I am lacking something in my diet.

I didn't expect to see that! But things needed to be done here, feeding the kitties top of the list. That wasn't probably the best thing for my mouth as lots of bending over, but it had to be done.

Today is absolutely going to be a rest day!

4781 steps yesterday.  More than I was expecting so doing laundry apparently added to the total.  All I was aiming for was to get at least the 250 steps each hour and I did do that plus more.  I wasn't bothered by cramps at night so that helped.  My understanding is that they don't really know what causes muscle cramps so don't have a remedy.  It may be a lack of something but it would take some tests to see if that is there.  Because of the hypercalcemia I had a couple of years ago my doctor tests my electrolytes each blood work and mine are all normal so that is not a cause.

Someone told me it was lack of salt. But for me that hardly seems likely. I'll put the question to my pcp Tuesday and see what she has to say. They are really painful and just at night. If there is something besides just getting up and walking, I'd sure like to know.

Hmm I didn't have any last night either. I wonder if it is somehow weather/air pressure related?

From what I know and have understood over the years is that the body is too complex an organism for anyone to know anything for sure. What "they" do is mostly guess work. I'm not saying that "they" are irrelevant and not required. Many times "they" are, but most of the times it's just a shot in the dark. The test are nothing but a strategy to medicate.

Take the live example of my mother. Fell sick on 10/31 with extreme nausea and diarrhea. Could not retain anything in her stomach. First diagnosis was acute hyper-acidity. On 11/4 hospitalized for food poisoning. By 11/6 termed as gastroenteritis. On 11/8 we took a CT and MRI and it turned out that her small intestine was perforated and during reformation it had been blocked.

For her age and weight (30 kgs) surgery was ruled out. So on 11/9, I opted to get her home and continue with her treatment here. India being India, hospital beds, equipment, nurses and doctors were available 24/7, and she had all her family with her, so it was a better option.

All this while not a morsel of solid food had gone in. All her needs were being met by IV saline. And the highest possible anti-biotics were being administered through the IV set. I must say all this was very very painful for her to bear and for us to see. On 11/11 her infusion sites were infected and swollen and doctors suggested to continue through somewhere on the side of her neck.

She expressed her desire to discontinue all the treatment, and all family collectively decided to just let her be. For energy needs, I decided to replace the saline IV bottles with just water mixed with Glucose + Vitamin D, and, I started to add maybe a 1-2 gms of Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) per glass.

It's been 2 months now, and all her infection/s have disappeared, her diet has not come back, but she can and does retain some food. She has lost a lot of weight but has regained enough energy to sit up, talk, and walk a few paces on her own with the help of a walking stick. All this with zero medication. Had we continued, we would have surely lost her by now.

The hospital bed is gone, and so have the doctors. A 24 hour attendant lady is there to help with all the things she needs to do as we cannot be there all the time. Sometimes, we have video chats with her doctor at the hospital. She is also amazed.

Sorry, if this turned out too long and in the wrong place.

Not too long at all! I am so glad to hear of her progress! I think sometimes the simplest of things can help far better than throwing the whole medicine chest at a person.

There is still so much we need to discover/learn about the body and healing options. I think in some cases the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method can work best.

Feeling everything more yesterday (and today so far too) the teeth removal, the fall and associated bumps and bruises. Kind of feel like I have been hit by a car. Will take it really easy as much as possible today again.

4817 steps yesterday.  I was surprised again as I am still just trying to get my hourly 250 but there still is other walking so I guess it adds up.  Yeah if you are hurting it is not necessary to try to do much more.

I was dragging yesterday, but things needed to be done so there it is. Today a friend is coming over with coolers cut w/holes in ends to fit under the hutch. We'll be doing some more refreshing straw on other coolers & boxes.

And of course it is garbage up the road day so have to get all that collected.

A lot of work outside moving hutch and setting up more coolers. Refreshing existing coolers. Very cold weather on the way, hopefully not much snow. Friday through Sunday night lows in single digit minus #'s with Friday the lowest at -10° predicted.
