5,299 steps yesterday.

I didn't feel like much walking yesterday. I did do a lot of pacing while the thunderstorm was in progress. Looking out windows to see if anything was down or blowing away etc. Basically just watching the storm pass over.

I hate these thunderstorms!!!

Very moderate but I did start. Hope to keep it up.

Quick run to PO for my mail, and pharmacy for additional Keflex. Then did laundry before I ran out of steam...

Not too much walking. Drive to dr, waiting there and drive home wore me out for the day. But glad hand is really on the mend now and will be glad to be finished with the antibiotics by the 25th so I can get back to my Meloxicam. My back and knees are really missing that relief! Then maybe the focus can be back to getting more steps...

4,933 steps yesterday.

I took it easy yesterday and plan the same for today. I just want to give my hand a good rest now that it is truely on the mend before I dive back into normal activity.  Finally there aren't any impending storms coming that would require any prep, just sun and a few clouds for a change. So one more day of rest is the plan for today.

I missed last evening's workout as I had to go for a meeting. Today I should be able to do something.

4,961 steps yesterday.

Yesterday was another day of rest but today I have to get some housework done and a big load of laundry. The yard work will also add some steps. But I'm still not going to push too hard.

5,535 steps yesterday.

After I cleaned up the yard a bit in the morning another thunderstorm blew through in the afternoon. I chased some cardboard boxes around the yard for a bit but then thought it was better to go inside and stay there. Winds were clocked at 70-75 mph here!

Unfortunately a lightening strike started a fire in the mountains across the valley. In less than an hour it was 300 acres! When I got up this morning the area had been evacuated and the fire was at 1600 acres!

I took a photo out my window about 1/2 hour after it started:

And another at about 2 hours in:

This morning is cloudy, this is the fire at about 7AM:

Again there is a "chance" of thunderstorms in the afternoon and also "possible rain" in the morning. The fire is not unusual for this time of year, but these high wind storms are!! And I hate the wind when it is just "windy"!!

That's a huge fire. I hope it is contained by now.

Not yet sadly. No containment at all. Terrain and wind are a problem. Helicopters are dropping water but this is an area that hasn't burned in a while so lots of dead undergrowth around the very expensive houses built in small enclaves. It is a lightening strike fire though, not man caused. Just hard to fight and try to save homes too.

5,733 steps yesterday.

I took the chance and picked up a bunch of branches yesterday and also fished the boxes from the creek I could reach, using my tree trimmer at full extension. Chores inside and rebuilding some of the cat cardboard box shelters outside. Fortunately it was a calm storm-free day for a change!

The fire at 8:15AM this morning:

I always thought that you lived in a very forested area, but I see fields, sheds and houses in the background.
