5,153 steps yesterday.

I didn't do as much walking as I wanted because my legs were bothering me.

My right leg and foot was really swollen and veins were showing on both legs so I finally went and dug out my compression socks and wore them for several hours in the evening. They feel better today but yesterday I didn't do much walking. I had Toxemia with both pregnancies and the residual from that is that I am very water retentive and it seems to settle more in one leg. I'm beginning to think I need to see a vascular specialist as lots of small veins are showing these days in both legs.

So today will be whatever it is with no pushing for any goal and I think I'll wear the socks for a while too. The ones I have are knee high, quite tight and zip up inner leg with toes exposed. I think I'm going to check Amazon for a full stocking type that covers the toes too and is pull on. I think they will be more comfortable.

Stayed inside most of the day. Now that I have once again gotten in the clear out the old clothes mode I think more is on the agenda for today. So much stuff I don't wear/haven't worn in so long...it can go!

I have had a problem with Edema in my legs before and it was really noticeable in my right leg after my heart failure that but me in the hospital last year. I also had fluid around my heart and lungs that was why I ended up in the hospital. My cardiologist put me on a diuretic that I continued after I got out of the hospital and the fluid around my heart and lungs went away but I still had some Edema in my legs. My PCP thought compression socks would help so I ordered some from Amazon but I was not able to even get them on and I got the largest size they had and still was not able to get them on so I gave up on them. Probably would have better luck trying a seller that specialized in that sort of thing but the Edema cleared up and I never used the socks.

The ones I have right now are medical grade, open toe and they zip up on the inside of the calf. Yes, they are a royal pain to get on but they do have to be tight, so I deal. I ordered a pair from Amazon last night that are like knee socks They are not quite as strong as the ones I have and hopefully will be a littleeasier to pull on. I also ordered some diabetic socks. that look like regular crew socks. I am not a sock wearer so have none right now. The Podiatrist thought it would be a good idea to start just for added protection. Personally I am a bare footer in the house and it is hard to get out of that habit.

The fire nearby is at 36% contained but the other fires a bit further away are not even that close. The air is Unhealthy again today and is one of the worst days yet. I will only make only my 2 trips out other than feeding the cats and otherwise stay put inside. There may be rain midweek hopefully and I hope it is a lot! Maybe it will dampen down these fires!

Not sure I am going to have close to that today. Tired from yesterday and the smoke will keep me in. Plus I foresee a long time on the phone.

Not much walking, most of the day spent on the computer or the telephone. Getting nowhere both places. I think I'm going to try to get more steps in and concentrate on the exercises for my hands today.

Not much walking yesterday. The rain really was coming down, but today should be better. My friend is coming over to put in one of the cat doors in the kitty house. I hope that they can adapt to it quickly...

I have a bad kink in my neck this morning, must have slept wrong.  I rubbed in some Aspercreme hopefully that will help some.

My neck was sore all day yesterday and in the evening my right ankle felt as if I had sprained it. Both seem better today, but still sore. I think it is going to be a take it easy day.

I took it. as easy as possible, but still had things to do. Today will be about the same as foot and neck still sore. Both are better but not 100% so I will baby them another day. I need to do a grocery run tomorrow so saving my ankle for that.

Only chores for today is gather the garbage for pick up tomorrow and feeding/playing with the cats.

4,300 steps yesterday. Don't often get such round numbers!

Taking it easy the last few days helped, but what I need to do today may set me back. Sigh, can't win for the losing...  The weather man says there may be snow in the higher elevations this week. I am not ready for it down here yet! My left hand still needs more healing/exercises to get to full function...

The errands didn't set me back too much, in fact I think the waking in the store loosened up my ankle. But since my neck is still sore, I am going to still take it easy today again.

Still in take it easy mode. My ankle is just about back to normal and neck is improving, probably thanks to the Meloxicam (my rx is for 1-2 /day and I've only been taking 1 a day) but  the past 2 days, 2 seems to give me more relief for my neck.

Not much on agenda today, maybe a load of laundry.

Even though I was taking it easy, for some reason doing laundry always adds steps. I guess the back and forth from one end of the house to the other as I slowly empty dryer. I hang dry most of the clothes after tumbling just enough to get the wrinkles out. Before all the kitties, I used to have my clothes rack on the porch, but now it would just be another climbing toy for them now. Cute, but not condusive to clean dry clothes!  ~ cat ~
