4,367 steps yesterday.

Finally by the end of the day yesterday, my neck seemed to back to normal! Finally, now I can ease back into more activity and especially since the weather is supposed to be nice for a week or so, get outside and do some Fall clean up and just walk some.

I did some heavier chores yesterday, vacuuming, changing the bedding for Fall, light quilt and almost put put on the flannel sheet, but too soon...

All that, and foot and neck still OK. Hands get better each day. Probably by the time Winter and snow shoveling time gets here they will be ready for it!!

3,387 steps was all I managed yesterday.

Watched several videos on the iPhone13 and ios18. Then the cat decided she needed to cuddle so we sat a lot. I have lots of chores for today so I guess a day of rest was what I needed too get prepared for today!

4,852 steps yesterday.

I got hung up going throught clothes and ended up with 4 more bags to go to Goodwill. I finally decided keeping the "fat" clothes just in case, was pointless and just plain stupid anymore so they all went into the bags. Also some super small ones that I won't wear again either.... Lots of empty storage bins now! Few other small chores and that was about it.

Someone on the other forum I participate in said her phone undercounts her steps by 10-20%. I don't know how she figured it. I replied that if my counts were under I'd be OK as it meant I had actually done more. But I wouldn't be happy for the reverse. I suppose all the counters have their error margins. I do have mine set with height, weight and stride length so I guess it is as close as possible to actual steps. Maybe this person didn't set that up??

I'm OK accepting the # my Maipo app says.

Those errors are quite possible, in both directions. The phone can over count as well. The phone sort of counts the vibrations every time a step is taken. It can miss a couple of steps. If I ever happen to ride in a (what you call) tuk-tuk, my phone thinks I'm riding a bicycle and starts to measure my outdoor workout.

Yeah, I more look at the counts as an average that I strive to keep around the same or higher each day depending on how my body is feeling. I don't think there can be any device that can truly count steps. Our steps aren't consistent in size and so many other variables get in the way to take it as carved in stone....

I didn't do too much yesterday as I knew today was going to be busy. I've learned the hard way that I need to pace myself if I don't want to be down for several days recouping from overdoing things one day.

I do have to start tidying and winterizing to some extent the kitty house. I took the flap off the kitty door because they were hesitant to go in and out through it, but they need to learn before the snow comes... I think memories of the traps made them shy away from the small opening that is the kitty door. I know they'll adjust in time....

I expected the higher count with all the running around yesterday. I shopped in a new to me grocery store in the town where my dr is so that meant a lot more looking for things and walking most of the aisles.

Today is going to be busy too, but homebound busy...

Nothing that was originally planned happened...sigh Not making any plans today except for doing some laundry. There are days like that....

Doing laundry always adds steps, plus I worked cleaning out kitty house while my friend and her hubby were putting in the window. In the afternoon I helped with the flashing around the window and clean up in the yard. It was a nice day to be outside doing most of my steps there!

Mostly just puttering around the house. I started pulling out Winter clothes in earnest and putting Summer clothes away. Then I did some stenciling in the kitty house, now that the light is better in there. I may do more if thee is time today.

The trip up to town and a brief shopping there added to steps. My right knee is aching some, might be the getting used to the new shoes and the different angle of my foot in them. Whatever it is, I'm going to take it a bit easy today.

My friend finished the outside trim yesterday so now the window is complete. At some time in the very distant future we are going to put new trim on the inside of the windows, just to pretty it up.  I'm going to have to look for one of those oil heaters for the kitty house for Winter. The insulation is helping alot as it is. It was 40° outside when I fed them this morning and 58° inside their house even with the door ajar! Without any heater!

5,543 steps yesterday.

That was me trying to take it easy!  ~ cat ~

Mostly just doing chores around the house and making sure to get out of my recliner each hour to walk at least 200 steps. I went out in the early evening trying to spy out where one of the kitties was going off to each evening and found her by my pump house sitting in the last of the sun on the dome of the end of the natural gas line.

On the way back inside something bit me and I have a couple of angry swellings on my arm today. One the size of a green grape at the base of my left thumb and the other mid arm about a puffy 2" x 1". I slapped a mosquito off my arm as I came in, but this is a pretty severe even for me, response to that. Alternating Arnica and Aloe Vera on them to keep the itching down. Annoying more that anything else, I want to scratch them but fight the urges.

It could have been a spider from the way you describe the swelling.

Maybe, I was in the weeds a bit. My thumb is better but the arm is really swollen almost all the way around and warm and red. Witch hazel has been giving the most relief so far. If it is worse tomorrow I may call my dr and see if she wants to look at it or send a prescription to the pharmacy. I can't see any obvious bite mark, but something got me!!
